RB want 80m euro for him, so yeah, funny way of saying Alvaro Morata.
Wasn't that what they wanted for him in January because it's mid season and you pay a premium, surely it would be less now in the summer. If we can't negotiate a deal under 60 for a guy with 13 league goals then Berta needs to get his p45 together.

At the moment I'd be happy if they actually can get Gyokeres deal done early it'll leave us so much time to figure out what we gonna do with LW position Zubi Gyokeres and LW basically 75% of our incoming and it's vital to get them done before we travel to Asia so they can settle with team the rest will be GK Partey replacement if he leave and if club willing to buy Ødegaard competition

Rodrygo stuff seems agent led based on what Ornstein said. The fact that the original link came from a Madrid publication suggests that.

Wouldn't put it past his entourage to be feeding this to see if Alonso and/or Florentino get asked about it.

We still don't know if actually gonna be available for transfer last year there were similar stories about him but he decided to stay.
I don't think that was the case. The reliable ones always reiterated that Rodrygo was committed to Madrid and that Madrid viewed him as an important player.

It's a bit different now. It isn't just clickbaity dross from Spanish media reporting that Rodrygo is available. It's outlets like Relevo that are also reporting it.

That SamC is saying we are discussing Rodrygo and he's seen as a market opportunity.

I think my first post a couple months back said we need one of Isak, Rodrygo or Wirtz. So the fact Rodrygo is available is great. We are in a great position to get him.

Vini certainly used the Saudi interest to put pressure on Madrid about jis contract.

I don't think Rodrygo has the same stature at the club to bully Madrid into giving him a better deal. Frankly, him and his entourage do that then Florentino would send him packing like he did with others before.

Btw even I don't think we will get Rodrygo. It's an Özil/Alexis type transfer and id be shocked if we pull it off.

These days I don't get that invested in names, think the last two seasons have sucked expectations out of me.

We need to stop wasting our time on unachievable targets like Isak.

I hope Berta is quick and decisive. We need new players to integrate day 1 of training camp. All business needs to be finished before training camp starts.

It's depend on Xabi Alonso if he want him to stay or not but Madrid managers have little say in that matter so if Perez decided he want to sell Rodrygo then it's over for him at Madrid

Don't think it's about a new deal per se, more that he wants to feel wanted by his club.

He's defo gets a lot less respect than both his counterparts, despite being a protagonist in the last CL title, for example.

Ill be in the minority but Rodrygo isn't the type of wide man i would like us to bring in.

I really wanted us to sign a pacey 1 vs 1 specialist who can help us in the transition and that's not really him, he's more of a SS than wide man imo.

Is there any hope Viera can play for us next season? How is his development?
Even if he would turn into the next Fabregas, do you think Arteta would think of replacing/rotating Ødegaard?

Unless he gets injured again, he's firmly planted on that right side.

Id say he's a 1v1 specialist do something out of nothing player. We do not need just pace to break down low blocks.

You need pace in modern football as an option.

Plus the reason we consistently face low blocks is partly because of how we set up ourselves.

If you look at how Arteta likes to use his LW, Rodrygo doesn't really fit that but it's a signing based purely on talent and quality rather than profile. The reason why Arteta has such a hard-on for Nico Williams is because he is one of a small few who almost perfectly fits that touchline LW role and can dominate that zone completely at full potential. Rodrygo is obviously gonna be more likely to do his damage closer to central areas - much like the other 2 LWs we have. So we'll get a much better player there but we'll still be somewhat nerfing him due to the nature of the role - unless that role changes slightly.
