Dowman 100% would have debuted last season if he was allowed but he wouldn't have got any real meaningful minutes. Probably 5-10 mins tops all season. He was 14 when the season started.

Next season though, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get Carabao mins. He's definitely gonna be with us on the preseason tour and will probably be one of the "surprises".

He's still only 15 and it's ridiculous on paper for this to be a thing but as I said earlier in the thread, he's a freak player. Not normal what he's doing at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he exceeds expectations. Arteta will definitely be tempted to use him, don't get it twisted. He'll resist though and I think that'd be more shrewd.
Thought as much zenmaster. The way they are catering to him and how public they are about him (as much as u can be about a kid who hasn't done his exams) it's pretty clear he's going to be given every opportunity here.

Some "experts" on this forum already know what Arteta will do with him next season.
It's an easy one to infer or have an opinion on tbf. Arteta himself has been talking about him on multiple occasions and seems to be just as excited as everyone else is. I wouldn't be surprised either way but I think Arteta will resist the urge to give him proper minutes. The only scenario I can see it being different is if Dowman gets a cameo and becomes gangster number 1 immediately.

It's either that or Chelsea/City/Barca/Dortmund etc etc pluck him out of the academy because "pathway"

It's hilarious when Chelsea or City do it but let's face it's more financial than pathway for those clubs. Barcelona and Dortmund do have a history of putting young players in positions to succeed. If we lost him to Barcelona or Dortmund it would blow but if it's Chelsea or city I wouldn't buy the pathway argument at all.

All in all based on my understanding we been pampering him and showing him senior side as much as possible. He will get his opportunity here..

But is it normal for a talent like Nwaneri? If he played for Barcelona, he already have a full season under his belt.
I agree with your point but expect way more minutes next season. Ode has shown us multiple times he cannot play every game and probably do him some good if we had a different player in that position.

Let's face it by Arteta ruthless comments in past it would still be pretty ruthless for him to get dropped by Ethan whether that was this season or next.

As a literal child you have a duty of care to the kid beyond even football.

It's a lot more complicated than just throwing Dowman in there to sink or swim. It's not Football Manager.

I want to see him as much as anyone but I think it's borderline unethical for a 15 year old to be playing men's football given the spotlight that comes with it tbh, particularly at a club like Arsenal with a huge magnifying glass on it and an online fanbase that are borderline mental half the time

La Liga is not the premier league man. This league is way more physical and savage. These are literal kids we’re talking about…

And anyway no he wouldn’t have. Who would he have displaced from the Barcelona starting XI to get this mythical full season? Yamal? Pedri?

Give it a rest.

People keep making the same mistakes and is always full of hopes in our window. Seen it last 6 times and then you guys get disappointed lmao

Just look at the names posted by the tweet previously few pages ago for 2025 targets and then remember this tweet last year

Targets exactly the same, mostly same names too. Always hoping for the same

I think these kids are getting agents that are pushing minutes. I think we'll get to a point where clubs don't have a choice - just like we had to give Nwaneri minutes to get him to sign.

Not only are these guys starting their professional careers earlier the football calendar is growing and growing. Going to be a lot of physically ****ed players about soon.
