Its time to get Šeško, Sporting is now wanting 80-85m euros for Gyokeres. For the price tags, no difference between Šeško and Gyokeres.

I'd like to think price isn't the main factor here and we've identified a clear top target and that's who we'll go for.

It seems we have done that and it's Sesko.

This is a must read.

Only had time to read the first bit of this, but credit to this guy for putting so much thought and effort into this article.

The bit on Leipzig is interesting. Out of all of the forwards he compared, Šeško often received the ball the deepest which confirms what the eye test was telling us.

To get 14 goals playing effectively as a playmaker in a poor team in a top European league isn’t really as bad as people think. Playing that role is probably good for his development as well.

I’d bet my life this isn’t true

We’ve had real PL coaching staff talk about how they purposely pay him less attention than Saka. Treating man like Ben Simmons.

Hand on heart it is. The guy we ended up with is not the player we had perceived to have coming through.

Wouldn't surprise me if we got neither, don't think we looking to pay "star player" transfer fee or wages

I'd go into the season with just Kai over signing Gyokeres. Well, a loan with option, why not? Risk free.

I've been banging on about this for while. The average Portuguese team has a lower wage bill than a Championship club.

I actually think Gyok would be good for a Forest or someone like that.

But for a team like Arsenal, a "win now" 26 year old playing for Sporting Lisbon who scores loads of goals against Gil Vicente is the biggest transfer window red flag I can remember.

You have to question why we’re not in the race for Ekitike.

Very worrying if it’s a money issue

Club clearly don’t see him being worth the value Frankfurt are demanding and probably don’t think he’s the right profile.

I don't see Gyokeres happening tbh.

Think it's the Portuguese media / Sporting pushing this stuff. They need to cash in this summer.

We're interested in both players and both clubs want to cash in especially Leipzig after no European qualification. We are rightly trying to bring them down to a reasonable price.

But they're totally different profiles of strikers so i don't think it's the case we'll just take whichever we can get cheaper. The club will have a preference.

I think Sesko is the main guy and Gyokeres is a bit of a smokescreen / fallback option.

I started clapping myself... until I realised that I was Sunderland's manager.
