I don't know why we are always slow in the transfer window, Edu and now Berta.
Are we slow?

It feels like Zubi is a done deal and the Kepa & Sesko deals are quiet close. Our preseason starts when? Probably around 20th July?

So there is still more than a month before it really matters. If a deal will be announced this week or in 3 weeks will make absolutely no difference for our next season. It would be just to please the fans - they will be happy for 2,3 days and then they will ask for the next signing and this is always the same every transfer window.

I have no idea why fans are so impatient. If our preseason starts and no signing would be made, it would understand the frustration.

Obviously because other teams are moving faster and our options can only disminish as time passes.

We have been linked in the past to Cunha, Mbeumo, Sane, Nico Williams and all are already off the table for us.

What if we wait too long and Liverpool has time to sell Nunez and come for Sesko/Gyokeres as well ? Or Chelsea comes into the play ?

So yeah July might be far but our targets might not be available anymore by then.

We yet to know who we actually targeting that the 1st news people should look at not the players we not interested in them and lose out

Who we lose out from wingers that we were "interested " lets see:

Gittens= meh nobody cares and Dortmund want 60M. Not worth it
Williams= not yet totally lost him but it's clear he don't want to leave la Liga
Mbeumo= We wanted him as backup he won't be joining.
Sane= well thank f**k we weren't interested giving him 15m a year it'll will be total disaster.

These are the players we lose out for now.

We also not moving slow we already sorted out our midfield signing backup GK And getting close to get CF

The transfer market won't close tomorrow.

I will keep my eyes on Kudus and Eze

Don't be so sure. I bet nobody had Chris Wood down as scoring as many goals as he did.

Sure, I wouldn’t pretend to really know it all. But those goals Gyokeres was scoring, several were back to goal, all the time in the world to turn around and direct it in. I just went through Chris Wood’s 20 goals and they were mostly much quicker flashes of brilliance, very clinical one touches or good positioning. Maybe Gyo would be awesome, but I don’t think that posted compilation proves another to my eyes atleast.

Just read the news that Williams is edging closer to Barca. Two years chasing Ishowspeed to only get left on read. I don't know how Barca will manage to fund this move, but knowing them, they're selling organs on the black market to get this deal done. This is a cautionary tale for young men (and women) on this forum. If you are talking to yourself in the DMs, assume that they're screwing around with someone else and taking you fi eediat. Take the L and move on. There are plenty more fish in the sea, and I'll be damned if we end up with some bottom feeder like Nkunku on the 31st August.

Saka and Saliba contracts announcement will ease lot of things.

They're patiently waiting for the appointment of a manager that's actually respected around Europe, not one whose mere mention illicits a derisive laugh like that one by delivered by Luis Enrique in his post-match presser (one of my favourite parts of last season )

What about Semenyo? I think he is a top player who is ready for the move up. Kudus isn't worth the hassle of dealing with West Ham again. I wanted him back in 2023 as an alternative to Kai. Eze is my guy, and a former Hale Ender coming home warms my heart. But he is a wingfielder, and he will need an overlapping fullback to excel - a profile that Arteta dislikes.

I agree that there still many good options out there for us but given the past 2 transfer windows I find it hard to trust the club when it comes to recruiting forwards. So not confident at all.

For the striker until we actually make an official offer for someone, I won't believe all these "advancing" talks. Seems like nobody knows what's our strategy anyway.

But I do agree that we are not at the panicking stage yet.

Sesko and Gyokeres and still there for the take. Watkins as well.

Morgan Rogers, Leao, Lookman, Eze, Semenyo, Kudus, Gordon, Mitoma would all make a good impact for us.

It's not often there are so many options. Berta would have to be a fraud not to improve us significantly this summer with all the talent available.

I already think he's the better talent, but he's definitely a far better fit for what we do than Gyök. Gyök's height is deceptive, the guy scored zero headed goals this season. We have one of the best crossers in world football in Saka and utilize them pretty often. Šeško also has more ball carrying and passing ability.

If we didn't lack goalscoring Ekitike could've been a better fit tactically, but his physical profile and shooting ability are concerning.
Etikite has similar if not better numbers than Sesko, the guy literally chooses to shot with elegance rather than smashing the ball. He is a baller. You can't use the argument of that "physical profile" after Isaak demolishing all those Englanders myths that only strong players succeed in the league.
