...and then He woke up sweating !!!

Whenever Sesko is mentioned, I remember the game above when Leipzig were just missing chance after chance. He’s still young tbf but his attributes aren’t really what we need with Kai on the books.

He’s also scored goals that would be some top strikers greatest ever.

As a “project” signing I’d rather they had that in their locker with the odd howler than someone that couldn’t hit a ball cleanly.

Call me greedy but i want Cunha as 8 or 2nd striker, LW and a Cf. Move Rice to 6 bed in Zubi then go from there. I wanna see some serious fvcking big club action. Loads of players are leaving get it done for once Arsenal. Im tired of the bs!

This is my wishlist as well.

Ødegaard needs competition, especially after what he’s served up this season.

This is why Rice is going to be our 8 btw. Excellent at sneaking into the box and he's actually very efficient in the box.

That's his 10th assist this season (2 for England). If he's hitting 10 goals and 15 assists every season (for club) I see no reason why he shouldn't be out 8. Issue for me is when Ødegaard is off the boil.

Ødegaard - Zubi - Rice

Has everything on paper. Zubimendi is excellent at progressing the ball, Ødegaard is excellent at incisive passes when he's on form, Rice is brilliant at basically everything aside from dribbling.

You see no reason why he shouldn't be our no.8 if he puts up numbers that he hasn't done so far in his career. Wonderful.

The other things the England games show that despite playing 2 attacking midfielders in Bellingham and Rogers, it doesn't automatically mean you are suddenly more creative, especially if the wide players are a bit average.

You and others have been on your knees for someone with ball striking ability but because he's 6'5 and looks weird when he dribbles he doesn't have the right attributes. I'd argue he has more of what we need than anything else.

He's nothing like Kai

I think it’s fair game as we’ll probably have to sign another striker in a year or two when people realise he’s not really that guy. Get the hunch people only want him over Ekitike because he’s slightly taller and it’s more a popularity thing as the eye test is day and night between the two:

In fairness to England's wingers, James and Lewis-Skelly tucked in a HELL of a lot. Wingers had too much to do. There's only one player who can do that job and that man is Bukayo Saka.

Lewis-Skelly ran the show in midfield from LB. Was kinda pissing me off to be honest. Just ****ing play him in midfield ffs.

Where you seeing him in midfield? I've seen shouts for 6 but he seems to get forward and cause trouble so well from the left 8 position with his ability to carry the ball.

He's won some free kicks in dangerous areas for us doing that in the last couple of weeks. It's been a nice change to see someone capable of that in midfield.

Rice with MLS and Nwaneri either side in midfield is what I see in my dreams. That's how we win the treble in a couple of years.

Crazy thing with Lewis-Skelly is he has WC potential in either the 6 or the 8 position, it really is pick your poison. He was playing that metronomic 6 role real easily today, playing incisive passes inbetween the lines at times aswell. And we know he can carry in tight/open spaces, and has even shown he can score, so 8 is there for him aswell.

It's why I was fuming the very day the news dropped that they were trying him for LB. Such a waste of a literal midfield dominator. I hope these LB shifts can force the issue more and they do the right thing in the end. Yeah he's playing in midfield but it's not really the same. He's playing a secondary role, but tonight he really took charge in the role he had. He's got mega potential in midfield, I just hope he gets to fulfill it properly.

I wish man, as much as I have all the time for Ødegaard. When Ethan really starts playmaking at this level and Myles finally dovetails with Rice (what I love is both guys can play 6/8 and still complement each other based on the game state), that's the ideal midfield.

7 goals and 9 assists in the league last season? You don't believe he can do 3 more goals and 6 more assists (now he's on corners) in all comps?

In all comps this season, despite the broken toe and taking a while to get full fitness, he's on 5 goals and 8 assists. He could comfortably end up on 10/10.

It isn't farfetched.

But in fairness I wouldn't say they are creative players. They are ball carrying midfielders that have great technical ability, but David Silva they are not.

Rogers isn't, but Bellingham definitely is. His creativity goes under the radar coz he doesn't look as fancy doing it as a spaniard but he has a mean through ball and good vision. He just goes about it in a very English way (uses his strength more than fancy footwork to protect the ball) but it's still super effective.

The narrative around Bellingham has gotten a bit weird. Ancelotti played him in a false 9-ish position for a season and suddenly years of top class midfield performances are wiped away with things like "not creative" and can't play deeper etc.

Not having a dig at anyone just to be clear, it's just a very common argument I see thrown about. People seemingly forgot he was the most exciting midfielder in Europe for a bit.

It’s not impossible to go through a season unbeaten and I can’t see why it’s shocking to say that.
