to be fair, he should deliver premier league trophy last season 23/24 if he can beat west ham at emirates, so last season should be its time to deliver major trophy

Whilst I agree there's no guarantees a new coach would come in and win a title.

The club probably think they've got a generational guy who's doing something pretty damn good and has had a lot of adversity this season.

If he wins the CL this year and title next year nobody will say nothing and he will go down in the history books as one of, if not our greatest ever manager.

Agreed. I think tactically, the team are actually well prepared against these sorts of teams. They mostly always pin the opposition back and have the ball in the final third.

Didn’t Pep say his job is to get the team to the final third and then it’s the players job…
That's what he said.
I think also that our main problem (in breaking low- and mid-blocks) is recruitment.
We definitely need better players in attack, those who can make difference with dribbling, shooting, passing and pace.
And we should play braver, this should also help in attack.

in my opinion arteta better deliver major trophy UCL this season 24/25 because partey as best second DM in this world (after gravenberch) will leave in summer 2025, arteta must win UCL this season for capitalize momentum as long as partey our key player still in arsenal squad right now

but if we fail win UCL this season at the same time partey leave arsenal in summer that will be regret so much because not easy replace partey especially DM market absolutely hard in every transfer window, that DM market always hard in last 20 season because DM is hardest position for find perfect player, not many great player who available in DM position in last 20 season (thanks to raul sanllehi who bought partey because he gave instruction to edu for buy partey before he left arsenal)

that is why i always said manager better deliver major trophy immediately, the meaning of immediately is dont make progression aka trust process too long (manager who need time too long for only deliver 1 major trophy) because we never know what is gonna happen in future, something bad can come from out nowhere in future like
1. small injury (martinelli,), injury prone (tomiyasu, calafiori), long term injury (jesus, big gabi, havertz, saka, Ødegaard)
2. surgery (saka, big gabi, havertz)
3. player underperformed week in week out like Ødegaard even until now,
4. horror injury ACL,
5. key player leave (partey in summer 2025 & xhaka in summer 2023) ,
6. sporting director leave (edu),
7. PSR (summer 2024)
8. etc (even arne slot come out nowhere because coming from farmer league without experienced at epl but he immediately way better than arteta at EPL this season with the fact liverpool below arsenal on EPL table last 2 season)
which all that something bad on list above already happened to arsenal this season 24/25 (except point number 4)

i just dont want arsenal repeat what happened in wenger era when hleb, rvp, nasri, fabregas, alex song, clichy, sagna left arsenal before we win major trophy because all of them left arsenal want to win major trophy and wenger always need mini rebuild in span every 2 season for replace key player who left arsenal (after invincibles era)

If arteta wins the CL this year he automatically become arsenal legend straight away & i will make mini statue for him with shape arteta lift ucl trophy similar like wenger statue who lift premier league trophy

Imo the mid/low block weakness is mostly about (lack of) individual quality in our attack.
The heart agrees but the brain says that player quality is rarely ever 100% of the problem.

I do think personel is a big part of it but then I remember that the low/mid block is simply football heritage. Signing Nico Williams or even Isak won't automatically make it easier to score when the oppposition have 10 f*cking players in their box

Their is a little bit of a coaching issue in terms of attacking centrally, random movement patterns and passing with pace. I think we choose not to do these things in exchange for control and to make us almost impossible to counter against.

if we signed a top attacker I'd initially keep things the same and hope that plugging in the new player would improve our attack without having to change our tactics, that's pretty much a guaranteed title. I suspect it won't be that easy though and we'll have to take the handbrake off a bit as well.

No arguments about the coaching issue, I have been pretty critical of Arteta not being able to solve this mid/low block problem for the last two seasons. As I said, we've had this problem even *with* Saka in the side.

This coaching is why I’m worried for Nwaneri development and I see Ode has gone backwards as a player. I think it will be continued trend defensive players like Timber, Rice and MLS will keep getting better under Arteta, while the creative players will stall under him. If you are defensive player Arteta is a dream manager

I don't see us signing a WC player for each front three position so yeah, we need that Klopp/Wenger ability to get attackers performing at a level above their 'true' level.

He seems to have improved Havertz, Xhaka and Rice going forwards (typing that out I realise they're all midfielders ) but we've seen him drop the levels of way more attacking players in the past. Maybe he's getting better at this now but next season will tell us for sure.

Came to get some news. Nico Williams thread turned into "Rodrygo save us" thread. VG thread turned into "he too old he too slow" thread. This is why AM can't be fed information early. They get horny and then 3 weeks later they complaining about arbitrary things.

STFU and stop pretending you wouldn't be happy with Nico Williams and VG. I'm okay with sesko or VG but let's not pretend we weren't all wanting Williams after the last WC.
