I like Barcola from what I’ve seen of him, for sure. I just think it’s too risky bringing in Sesko and also a 21 year old on the wing, I think we need someone ready to perform straight away.

I also don’t think PSG will let him go, I think Williams is the more likely deal, but I’m still worried Sesko/Williams takes too long for them to adapt and hit their peaks.

They are both internationals and have 4/5 years experience of professional football. Its not like they are 17/18 years old academy players with only u18 experience.

If you are good enough, you are old enough. Look at Barcelona using 16 years old players and dominating La Liga.

Thoughts AM?

If i'm correct peak Pogba at Juve played left 8 most of the time, in a more free role than he had when Utd signed him back.

That version of him would actually probably have been ideal for how Arteta wants his left 8 to play. Unfortunately for him it's a long while since we've seen that version of him, and at soon to be 32, the likleyhood of seeing that again are very slim.

That Utd move was criminal all round. Criminal that he thought that was the best move for him, and criminal that Utd couldn't get that midfield balance right to get the most out his talents.

I’d hate for us to sign Pogba - age, how long he’s been out the game and, personality wise - he’s a terrible fit for this squad.
However, he’d still be a better option in midfield than Merino!

It is criminal that he did not fulfill his talent. He had the talent to be a GOAT, but choose to not taking football seriously due to his immaturely.

I get that. I just look at some of our best attacking signings and they were older and more developed. Alexis was 25, Özil was 24.

If a 2025 version of Alexis just doesn’t exist then fair enough go for someone like Williams.

Cunha tbf is a player at the right stage of development, but he’s more of a good versatile attacker than the top quality star that we need.

...and then He woke up sweating !!!
The only forward in their peak (25/26 years old), that is even has a small possibility of moving is Isak, and we know he will be too expensive.

The club just need to apply the defence/midfield transfer policy to the front line. U25 players with experience at the top level, that can grow here.

Obvious examples are Sesko/Williams/Cunha.

Tbh when you look around at potential available young top top quality attackers in Europe, the name that stands out is Wirtz. He’s absolute top quality.

But he’s not really a winger. And in any case we’d probably be outmuscled by City/Bayern.

we should consider him in case they fail again for Sesko for 60M i'd take a risk for guy like Gyokeres.

If they’re not willing to pay £60m for Watkins I don’t think they’ll pay it for Gyokeres who’s only a couple years younger and not nearly as proven.

Our primary attacking signings will be younger than 25 I’m almost certain of it.

They will be in rude awaking when they see these u25 good strikers are worth 50M+.
