When you get moved to defence as senior player. You tend to stay there. No one plays as defender several seasons and then just becomes midfielder.
Bukayo Saka has become one of the best defenders in PL

Unpopular opinion but I’m inclined to agree. I keep hearing people say “eventually when MLS moves into midfield” etc…people said the exact same thing with AMN. Has MLS ever started as a midfielder for us? I can’t recall. If he basically never plays for us as a midfielder maybe he just isn’t going to be a midfielder for us.

Then the question is, can he be a top LB. Probably not cos he’s not that good defensively. I think most people know this but it just takes longer to realise with academy kids cos we want them to succeed.

AMN was 23 under Arteta and was played as a traditional fullback or wingback. MLS is 19 and inverts into the midfield

He's there until he retires to Saudi. If Arsenal wanted him we likely would have already submitted our offer to his agent.

Who's the next Arsenal target? Barcola? Nusa? Endrick? Rashford?
We can get him but need opportunity to jump on him like Juve missing CL or he get unsettled he playing in one of Italian biggest clubs the advantage we got is we can give him good enough salary. Who we target next i don't know really there no names that worth to pay big money maybe Barcola

But why would we if he turned down our offer when we could of got him for £60m or so. He'd cost £100m+ now and that's a big gamble.

He's likely settled in Juve anyway

Now not getting Semenyo even looks more stupid....

We have made City better while the alternative is now tied to a long term contract.

Semenyo and Yildiz gone. IMO these were the 2 most obvious LW signings.

It’s looking good so far this season but ultimately our attack is a massive weakness. We can make it work this season (mainly in the PL) but the cracks will show long term.

It’s really bad news about the Yildiz renewal I had a hope we were tapping him up a bit. But it looks like we have again not taken an opportunity in January to genuinely upgrade our squad. No master plan I don’t think.

There are financial considerations to make regarding spend for January I guess, but surely there were ways around that?

I do like Yildiz but not one to be massively disappointed about really.

I think if we win the league it’ll change the type of player we go for tbh and there are so many exciting young talents at LW who can be potential superstars, that’s what I hope we’re looking at.

To say that 'our attack is a massive weakness' is pure hyperbole

Not sure but I think we’re going to go for a young player on the flank, saw that we were linked with this Mika Godts the other day as have Barcelona:

Not really sure about him, the positives are that he’s only 20 and putting up good numbers (19 G/A in 29 apps) but he definitely looks a transition footballer and more in the Nelli style than anything just a bit more raw. If it’s at the fee above as an option off the bench then I wouldn’t mind him but we’re already stocked with squaddies, need a starter on the LW imo.

I don't know, I know the level is low but he seems to have much better 2 way dribbling. Looks like he plays on the left too. £20m would be suprising, it's way lower than Gakpo nevermind spinny Antony
