We’re run by risk adverse accountants and lawyers.

Premier League Champions acting like we just scraped Europa League football.

If you have a number one target, it’s the player your manager wants, what does £20m overpay really matter? If you’re then forced to your 3rd/4th targets, was that £20m saving really worth it?

How much did we overpay for Madueke? Or Havertz?
It is your kid birthday, and he can choose anything he want, as long as it is within the £100 budget, no questions asked. You are willing to go over budget if it is something educational that will help with his development. Then he ask for a £130 Labubu. You now have a perfectly valid reason to refuse to buy a fluffy toy that is going to be thrown away after the hype settled down.

And yes, that extra £30m matters because it exceeds the budget for a player whom the club or Berta do not consider necessary or believe would significantly improve the squad.

PSG bought very shrewdly
Doue went for €50 million.
Barcola went for €45 million.
Kvara €70 million

LW market is worst now.
Martenelli was so weak in PL that we cannot be worse than signing highly rated players from other league at Good price.

e.g.
Kerim Alajbegović seems to have physical traits for PL LW that's why Alonso wants him too. Almost as old as when Doué was bought.

We should absolutely try in this price range for LW.
Liverpool already taught us that high price from other league is not a guaranteed success and injury can collapse the team.

Marquee signing should be for guaranteed level raisers and which may be for other positions where we can capitalize. Passing stats of Noni, Nelli and Gyok are at bottom level in PL.

We signed Tzolis who 24 we cant sign younger than him we do need someone really gonna help us unless that young guy is top quality like Diomande even if watching him in world cup there few improvements he need to make

Reports in Argentina confirm Alvarez want to leave A.Madrid his Barca transfer is complicated and Arsenal very interested and have the financial ability to buy him.

Real Madrid already adopted one years ago. Signing established experience players when their contracts run out (easier for them to do this though), and sign the best young players in the world (Arda, Endrick, Rodrgygo, Vini ect).

We’ve heard for years now the club want to improve youth recruitment, but even at that level we are being blown out of the water by City.

So diomande is back on the table given the image rights issues between his negoitation team and PSG? We wont cause issues about those image rights issues, whatever that means, will we. Especially if he is willing to sign for lower wages than PSG were probably offerring.

He is the one i originally wanted.

Edit: just looked up pool are in the box seat if the PSG deal goes tits up ffs, what are we doing?

He was never on the table to be back on it. We have Martinollis and don't forget Calafiori can play there

“Had Arsenal not dragged their feet, they could have wrapped up the deal weeks ago for about £100m”

The manchester clubs and chelsea throw so much money at these kids and their families at such a young age, that we have to take it on the chin. Also not surprising as all these 'defecting' kids are the ones who joined our academy 1-3 years earlier from other clubs

It’s a nice analogy, but remember in this analogy (I/Arsenal) am loaded, I’ve made more money this year than any other year. I am also a Champion for the first time in decades. I have more financial and reputational pull than I have ever had.

I’m just asking for us to have a little ambition, be willing to stretch our rigid constraints just a little. I mentioned before we should look at how Liverpool operated for Klopp. They had an elite coach and completely changed their transfer philosophy and ambitions to align with him.

We’ll only have this team and manager a limited time, say 3 years? Go for the jugular, chase that Champions League trophy, whether it costs you an extra £20m or not.

Arsenal Quotes

No one could have imagined for a single second that he would come to us. Only David Dein, Sol, his agent, and I knew what was going on. When I called a press conference to announce the arrival of a new player, and Sol Campbell walked into the room full of journalists, it was a bombshell.
