Throw in is the most useless game rule in football. There is not much advantage besides to run the gaming clock down. Your teammates always receive the ball under pressure. It will be great if you can use the long throw to start a counter attack or the use it as a "corner kick". I forgot against which team it was. But it was always dangerous when that player threw that ball into our box.

You have to sign guys with such strong arms to make it useful. Not sure coaching would be useful can teach you few tricks tho. Pretty sure Pep signed Semyeno because of his ability to make throw in look like corners.

Basketball is different tho you play with your hands and arms since you kid so its obvious it'll be stronger and your accuracy grows same with American football even baseball an average out fielder can throw the ball and it speed could reach close to 90mph. In football your legs do the work not arms or hands.
