My main criticism with Edu so far is his inability to articulate a vision for the club. Apart from some vague stuff about seeking players with the right athletic and technical traits he hasn't publicly given Arsenal an identity yet. I would say his recruitment has been mixed rather than terrible and I get the sense he has some strengths as well - he seems well able to sell the club in transfer negotiations; a good facilitator between the Board and the football structure. He also seems to have a ruthless streak, though it's hard to pin down whether that's him it Arteta.
I wouldn't be against keeping Edu at the club as Head of Recruitment or whatever they call it. I think we need some more experienced leadership to come in above him and Arteta though. Rangnick would be amazing. Or maybe Overmars or Campos.

Getting Campos in would be a genuine sign that Arsenal football club wants to become serious again. However, I am not sure if I buy these rumors.

I'm on my knees. Would be the first time since Sven that I'd have even the faint impression the club is attempting to do something proactive and innovative.
Not a huge fan of changing DoF in the middle of every summer transfer window though
Campos would he the best signing the club could possibly make. His record at Monaco and Lille is insane.
Campos would be major coup doesn't mean he'll replace edu he might be more of the person who manage scouts recommend players like Cagigao but he likes more him controlling things and be DOF . Real madrid hold long interest in him we'll see but hope we can bring him.
During the summer window:
Normal clubs: We need to identify the perfect players to suit our system this summer, so we can improve.
Arsenal: We need to sign the perfect DOF to completely change the construct of the club this summer, so we can improve ?
But joking aside it’s better late than never. I’ve wanted Campos or Rangnick here for the last year or two now.

Campos signing and Edu dealing with South America would be the best transfer this summer. It would give me some hope going forward.

I like this. Get specialised, high powered, people into major continents like South America, who reports to someone like Campos. Spend the money - a small amount all things considered - on a decent scouting network.

I also like this idea. If Edu gets credit for Martinelli then he's shown he has some use.
Why would Campos come to Arsenal to be anything less than DoF?
The one thing that would count towards Arsenal in this case is that Florentino will override any of Campos' calls if he feels like spending silly money on a shiny new toy.

Apologies if this has been posted already somewhere. It's interesting hearing Campos talk - you can tell he has a process and a plan; that he understands how football operates. I think that experience and vision is what we are lacking at the moment.

Why would you want Edu to stay if we are signing Campos? That's like wanting Arteta to become Conte's assistant if we sign Conte to be our manager.
i want him to stay because we don't have any people who get football and have experience in game our board have only edu. with who Campos will talk and recommend players? freaking Vinai? Tim Lewis? can't put everything on one person only even if that mean Campos who is elite but i'm sure at Monaco and Lille he have football brains around him.
We also need stability we been changing too much because this football club will become more mess i we keep sacking dof bringing another dof every 1-2 years.
are there examples of hyped up individual technical directors moving clubs & continuing the level of success?

if you have unlimited money you really don't need DOF just go buy best players but with limited budget you'll need person who get under the radar players that will bring quick improvements to the team not sure Arsenal fans will accept Campos signing under the radar players because their ego don't accept it they think bringing Campos will guarantee you signing grealish. Campos signed Burak Yilmaz and Jose Fonte who were already but finished at top level do you think Arsenal fans would accept these kind of signings?
