Elite talent. You look at him and you say same thing as people were saying about Bergkamp... 'But but not athletic enough'. **** it they play football around anything that is athletic and most often they come out on top!
It's a stark improvement to how thoroughly dominated he was by Louie Sibley. He's looked combative today and has dominated the ball.

It's a shame that the attackers are not in this game at all. Olayinka and Coyle have been poor. Balogun's hardly had a kick. Tormey not been great either.

That was a good chance for Coyle just now, should have done way better.

Oh that's a poor goal to concede - 3-1 Borehamwood. Not sure what happened to the midfield there. Burton and Smith were nowhere!

Terrible hot takes
All you need is football brain and technique. Nice goal.

and yet Boreham is crushing us because they are bigger and stronger,

how about them apples?

oh sweet summer child

this is good practise for the let downs that will surely come when the season starts and we sign some technical ****** and not gritty fighters

will you be happy then?

Half time.

Nothing game in principle but a good test for a lot of players who aren't ready for first team football but need the challenge. Perhaps more disappointing was the poor technical display by a number of players - particularly Coyle and Olayinka who were passengers most of the time despite being physically able to withstand Borehamwood players. Smith has done well mostly but his defensive awareness needs work. Too much jogging back! Burton has been very hit and miss (mostly miss IMO). Swanson is game but definitely not ready. Thompson has been so-so. Medley has looked timid, McGuiness slightly less so. McGuiness probably been the best defender this half, scant praise notwithstanding.
A lot of these guys need more U23 football - these are players who have mostly U18 experience and have probably not had many tests against adult opposition.

Hopefully there's some more dynamism from the subs in the 2nd half. Really hoping Azeez comes into midfield. He's 16 and I'm really eager to see him tested early on. John-Jules and Amaechi also needed.

Tis just a pre-season game, warm-up at that. Not a case of rubbishing these young talents, but these are the kinds of tests needed, that I look forward to for them - even if it does not turn out the way we hope. There's still time for a lot of these lads. Many not even U23 players yet.

Were Milner and Kyut better than Ronaldinho and Messi?
You don’t have to answer. Ronaldinho and Messi were not gritty fighters, hence rubbish.

Good football.

Smith and Cottrell much better in possession than Smith and Burton. John-Jules making a lot of good moves, Amaechi involved too.

This new goalie Hillson looks far more secure than Hein too.
