I ****ing need it to be for the fans. Unlike some of my friends my dad didn’t think to sign me up to a season ticket when I was a 12 year old like 17 years ago 😂 I applied for the waiting list like 4 years ago and have barely moved

Mate, if we make it, you can buy me a pint. Sorry, I meant, I'll buy you a pint. Something like that.

I'm around 48000 in the queue, and I think I did that in 2013. I changed my email later, so it was either 2013 or 2018.

I do wonder if the Kroenkes know the fan appetite, though. They obviously have consultants, surveys, and ticket gates, but we really are THAT popular in London.

Oh yeah for sure 1 drink each would be the utter minimum 👀

I’m 53,000, that’s a fully packed Anfield amount of people away from a ticket 😭 We will probably get it a season or 2 apart. Hopefully we win the PL in back to back seasons in that period!

I like how you said minimum. We've got a deal

It's insane when you think about ticket availability, though. I've been to almost every (current) PL ground in London, and as difficult as it is to buy tickets, ours have always been the most irritating to purchase in-house.

The ideal scenario is that this gets recognised and addressed. Will it happen, though? ****ing hope so

Yeah it’s a mess. My baby half brother really wants to go to an arsenal match but my dad could only manage Arsenal women’s. I wanna take my girlfriend as well but it’s hard to get tickets. I feel like it’s much easier for all the other clubs, to the point I’m considering sometimes going to a Fulham Arsenal game in the home area to watch us 😂

The stadium needs a revamp and an upgrade - for sure. Only concern is what the actual full capacity is, and whether it's primarily geared towards the suits at the expense of the fans. I suspect the Kroenkes want a commercial Sp**s/US model.
It’s really not a bad thing to follow the US model when it comes to the matchday experience. Times have changed — the old days of standing terraces and one bloke selling hotdogs from a van are long gone. Matchday is the bread and butter for top clubs now. Shirt sales, food, drinks, merch — it all adds up. The longer fans stay inside the ground, the more money the club makes, and the better the overall experience is for everyone.

Just look at the NBA. Going to a game feels like walking into Disneyland. You’ve got music, entertainment, proper food options, and fan zones — the whole thing’s an event, not just a match. That’s what football needs to move towards if clubs really want to grow and keep fans coming back, not just for the 90 minutes but for the full day out.

I'm sorry man that's absolute nonsense.

Fans dont go to games to stand around in the concourse to listen to music, to go to support their team.

There are people who go to the theater just to watch the movie and pay for the ticket. But most of them end up buying popcorn and drinks, which can cost at least 2/3 of the ticket price.

Clubs won’t spend money to renovate or expand a stadium if fans only come to watch the game without spending anything on matchday.

Arsenal have a season ticket waiting list of about 100k. Everyone on that list would give their left nut to have a season ticket. The other big clubs will be the same. Its not like any of these clubs are seeing falling demand for tickets.

Improving the hospitality obviously needs to happen in any stadium renovation, but that would be for the extracurricular events such as concerts, rather than the actual matchday experience.

Looks like it is gaining traction and rightly so. We should really be prioritizing upgrading and modernizing our stadium and museum as it has fallen behind many of our major European rivals.

Given that United is building a 100k seater stadium and the 2 Spanish giants new stadiums is 90-100k as well, we really should be aiming at least 80-90 if the local council allows as the waiting list for season tickets is insane and can further future proof the stadium.

I'm not sure that size is realistic to be honest on the existing site. Even if you could expand it to fit those seats in, the impact on the streets and roads around the stadium on matchday is a consideration for planners - you've got to get everyone in and home for example. Look at Wembley it has a whole boulevard designed for the numbers.

Even if it goes up to 70k or a bit more, that's a significant boost. We don't need to match United's seat numbers to have a similar income to them

I'm more worried about this than anything. Trauma from the last build. I know it is not nearly the same but I hope it doesn't financially cripple us for a decade like the last time.

A bit different doing it now while being owned by a guy worth $21bn. With the way the landscape has changed in terms of revenues I imagine the increase in match day income will cover any loan repayments.

I love the Emirates but here's hoping we can expand to 100,000+ (and take the hit for the rail upgrades).
Season ticket waiting list more than justifies it.
Red Members are drip fed tickets.
Silver membership is an impossible wait (i don't think i will be alive for my turn).
Keep our values whilst embracing the 'Americanisation' of stadiums with new business models to stay competitive.

3-4 years in Wembley may be worth it (and painful)....and yes, the trauma of last build is still fresh in the memory banks but look where we are today!
With a team that we have (and hopefully we can build on it to stay competitive with attractive football), we should be able to fill Wembley and see a reasonable return despite Wembley rent whilst expending capex on the Emirates.
Wait a little longer for the Expansion and we may suddenly see ourselves with a moderate team (after this one disbands with silverware) and struggle to keep current revenues whilst expanding the Emirates (i.e. relying on baby gunners here we go again - no thanks).

By 2035, we are either today's St James Park or England's version of Camp Nou.
