Arsenal Set to Expand The Emirates

Sorry for my skepticism. I know the Grove is constantly sold out and that expanding it therefore makes sense, but I still have a “fresh” memory of what followed the last time Arsenal were at the top and took on the previous stadium project.
I think the difference now is that KSE would spend this money and as it's infrastructure it wouldn't be counted towards FFP and shouldn't affect day to day spending.

Given the club have stepped up atmosphere effort in recent years if this goes ahead we might even see the away relocated?

What would we like to see from an Emirates upgrade, realistically?

Ideally for me would be about 15k extra seats, stands a bit steeper if possible, and the roof redeveloped to house some sort of large wrap around LED screen. Something in size between the 1 at Atletico, & the 1 at the SoFi.

A nice, covered external fan zone would be nice as well.

Josh honestly comes across better now that his gamble with Arteta paid off.

How many other nutjobs would have given Arteta lenience after Covid?

Very disappointing. Basically just means they gonna try to get more corporate seats revenue instead of prioritising having more people in the stadium.

All the word about how we have look at Bernabeu and wants to expand the same way... lol

The wavy design all around the top/back of the stands is ****ing dumb. Easily thousands of seats could have been installed in those gaps.

The location to build the Emirates stadium was not choosen wisely and don't think they have thought having to expand the capacity.

I'm not sure there are many other large areas in and around Islington that could be bought and house a mega stadium. I think we were very fortunate to find something that was a stones throw away from Highbury to keep Arsenal local to the area.

Even if your looking further afield, look at the trouble Chelsea have trying to find a location that suits them in West London. They were looking at things like Earls Court and Battersea Power Station to no success.

There was nowhere else within the local area iirc. We would have had to move out of the area or spent a lot more buying up several surrounding properties- that the owners weren't even willing to sell

these guys love real estate projects, they would have done it if it was at all possible. just not at all realistic in this location because of the train lines.

basically need the lads to convince the government to give them a chunk of Finsbury Park and build it up there
