In hindsight, to say that Partey and Willian aren't working out is an understatement. BUT, Partey was an absolute steal at 45m and Willian was coming off arguably his best season in a Chelsea shirt and definitely his most productive.

It's only been bad business because we have an abomination of a manager. Willian played a noticeable role in Chelsea making the Champions League and Partey was a pivotal part in the highly rated Atletico team. So much so that they fought to keep him.

In essence we brought in two Champions League players of proven quality, in areas were we needed improvement for a measly 45m. That should have been great business.

If we were to sell Partey we'd get most of our money back and Willian cost us no fee so there is nothing to lose. Maybe we could even sell him to the middle East or Yanksville?

How can Partey be viewed a steal at 45m for us when all of Guendouzi, Torreira and Ceballos had much better 1st seasons with us? I hope Partey goes on to adapt to league and lives up to hype but he has fallen woefully short of expectation in his first season.

As has willian who was coming off his most productive season with Chelsea.

I don't care what rating they have on Fifa computer games from past clubs, they need to produced the peformances expected from them on the pitch for us.

We brought in one of Europe's best midfielders for 45m you madman. His value was far more than that. The mentioned names had better seasons because they were playing under a better manager.

Willian has been awful. At the time it seemed very low risk.

Willian doesn't get a pass for being awful for us because he was previously good for another team (rightly so) and neither should Partey. End of the day Partey needs to start producing the level of peformances and to consistency expected of him for us rather living off past performances for other teams.

Nobody mentioned anybody getting a pass. Hindsight is a beautiful thing. I doubt that you were complaining when we announced Partey? So no point being wise now. Even with that, likelihood is that he is much better this season.

We aren't unearthing many gems and are actually overpaying for some players. Some of our risks recently have yielded decent results namely Guendouzi, Martinelli and possibly Lokonga. Runnarson has been a **** show and we'll see with Tavares.

Tierney and Gabriel for around 45m is brilliant business, but Pepe for 72 has been a shocker.

Mixed bag for incoming.
