Arsène said in a recent (yesterday) interview on Plus that six players playing tonight are ready to play in the premiership and could be seen any time given suspensions and injuries, he wouldn't name who so heres the speculation thread

Arsenal squad:

Manuel Almunia
Chris Wright
Robin van Persie
Mathieu Flamini
Philippe Senderos
Jermaine Pennant
Gael Clichy
Justin Hoyte
Patrick Cregg
Johan Djourou
Sebastian Larsson
Arturo Lupoli
Quincy
Frankie Simek
Danny Karbassiyoon
Ryan Smith

the most obvious would be the list from RvP down to the Hpyte, but if we're touting Pennant as some Everton site said, then who's the sixth?

Almunia......

I'd think: RvP, Pennant, Flamini, Clichy and Almunia wouldn't have much problems in the first team.
For the last place it'll be Senderos or hoyte IMO.

Yep I go along with that list, and I actually wouldn't include Almunia in the ready for the first team mould. From what I saw of him against City and Everton, while he looks good he doesn't seem composed enough for me to be a regular first teamer.

i don't think he would've meant Alumina as the conversation seemed to revolve around youth.

Whatever he always says there ready but never plays them so whats the point.

He may well be forced to, depending on the injury situation. Wenger's even less likely to introduce the younger players into the side when the results aren't going our way.

Senderos looks like a dud to me. I reckon Ryan Smith could do a job though, and I would not be at all worried if i saw Quincy in the 1st team squad

Don't think it is fair to say that, most defenders usually really start playing well later on in their career. Look at Terry when he was 19, he looked like he was going nowhere. Senderos has had an incredibly bad time with injuries and it will take a while for him to get back in the swing of things. Only now he has got a run in the side since joining us due to his injuries, if anything he looks like he has to much weight on him and needs to trim down so he can move about more freely.

Due to so many youngsters breaking into teams we are expecting far too much from our youngsters. Look at when the beckham and co broke into the manc side, they were all over 23 IIRC.

I'm a bit worried about Flamini playing because we're going to need him so much for the Rosenberg and Chelsea game as there is no-one to play with Fabregas if he gets injured v the Utd thugs

I agree with what you say about Senderos looking heavy. He looks slightly uncomfortable in his general movement. Ok he also has had bad injuries, so maybe I was being harsh, but then I can only go by what I see. Lets hope you are right and he improves with age.

Should be a decent match up tonight. See Flamini properly for the first time really. Wonder how our attacking will go?

I'm very interested to find out how this match goes down. Will it be played on the Radio in England? IS there going to be a matchday chat??? Oh the suspense has been keeling me for 2 days now. Right after I read about Chelsea 2-1 Fulham, I've been itching to see how we do.

Watford hammers Pompey...oh my!

Arsenal Quotes

Right from his very first match, when Patrick Vieira was as yet unknown to the English public, he showed just how talented he was. No one disputed his ability, and he gave me the credibility and the hold over the club that I needed to take it in the direction I wanted. He and Emmanuel Petit became a duo that would remain forever etched in the memories of Arsenal fans.
