Right-footed CB's can play at LCB, and vice versa, it's not unusual. And we have Mari anyway as a left-footed option.If you're a good passer, which Upamecano is, it's not a problem.

Still seems a bit risky. I'd keep Torreira if possible just for good cover and rotation, he's a very useful midfielder to have around. Szoboszlai would be great but he's an attacking midfielder, it's probably a case of either/or with him and Grealish. As for Willock and AMN, yeah, but they're not proper CM's.
You can't go a whole season with Partey and Xhaka as your only proper CM's. No other big club would have such little depth.

Upamecano won't cost 50m surely. Sane just went for 40m with a year left on his contract, and Sane's done way more in the game than Upamecano.
