Ffs, we have brought in Willian, Gabriel and gotten Dani back (plus Saliba has also joined us now) all of them are quality players who will make a difference this year, yet people are acting like we haven't signed anyone

Still got a month left too, chill.

So you think a Chelsea cast off, two young untested french defenders, and a loan extension for a player who helped us to the lofty heights of 8th last season will make a difference ?

Also not to mention the season starts in a week, yes the transfer window closes in Oct (a whole month as I keep being told), but the amount of time for said signings to bed in, quarantine and actually be ready to play we could be four games in, and with none of our weaknesses addressed that doesn't fair to well for the coming season as momentum is key...

Willian wasnt a cast off as you should know. He rejected Chelsea.

He only rejected them because they didn't do the numpty thing and offer him 3 years.

Which is the smart thing to do with a player rapidly approaching their mid thirties, mind you they already had a gameplan with or without him...

Anyone reckon we are in for ASM?

Arteta is said to want a forward for one reason or another.

Reliable Toon sources said this a while ago. It was squashed by Orny as not a target for that point in time.

Recently we've been reliably linked with Felipe Anderson. But it was said that he is just a backup target. Suddenly newcastle completely upgrade their left side and spend £35M on Wilson and Jamal Lewis?

Something doesn't add up there, Newcastle never spend over 40M net. Especially in this market.

Just a thought. Saka could be used as the third CM instead of Aouar and instead of being a LW. ASM to potentially replace Laca and then pushing Auba up top as you'd have the required creativity.

The margins in the race for top4 are tiny and our midfield is still seriously lacking. Any signing from outside the league needs a settling in period, not only to the league but a lot of private things to take care of as well. Signing someone like Partey in August or October makes quite a difference.

ASM is probably the closest you get to Pepe(meant as a compliment) so while I really like the player and think he will explode soon for us he does not make sense. Probably going to Sp**s, maybe Pool.

ASM would mean no Aouar. Still need Partey in midfield.

Benrahma is a dead shout compared to Saint Max. Saint Max is electric and has a year in the PL under his belt. Gonna be special.
Naw man f*ck that Aouar will happen imo no way he’s a smokescreen for someone like ASM..

ASM - Auba - Pepe
Willian/Özil
Ceballos/Xhaka - Partey
It is just a thought of course.
