Yeah won’t be long. It’s a long season, he’ll have plenty of chances.

However what he does off the bench is very different to the job Watkins has to do from the start of games.

Duran might be able to do the same, but at the moment he’s so potent as an impact sub it might be best to keep him there

I wrote it as a reply to those who use every decent Emery's game with Villa as a stick to beat Arteta.

Yeah, both sets of fans got what they essentially deserved. Villa got to strut their stuff in CL for the first time since ever under competent manager and enjoy the little things.

Arsenal fans got someone to form a cult of personality post-Wenger and talk about "new glory days" despite winning zero trophies in the last 4+ years.

A lot of cope and justification when Emery is just quietly doing his thing. Plus he’s always respectful when asked about Arsenal despite being laughed out of the club.

Duran also has the skillset that makes Arsenal-Mania insecure. Hopefully his form fizzles out so some of you can rest.

"Style matters" like we haven't watched soul destroying football at United Chelsea and yes Arsenal in the last few years. The arrogance to claim he's found his niche lol if anything it's these **** clubs that are a niche for managers, coaches interested in finishing midtable getting a massive severance pay and a couple years of sabbatical after.

Hope Emery stays away from United or Chelsea because they destroy all talent they touch whether on the pitch or sidelines.

Nothing revisionist about the fact that he's always done more with a lot less. Even at Arsenal.

Not the only criteria in management though, so the discussion is worth having and will continue until one of them falls off. Or wins something that ranks higher than FA Cup and Europa league.

I think it's way more likely Emery has a bad season that a lot of Arteta fans are looking for and gets clowned to death personally, but we will see.
