Jesus. Who crawled up your chimney?

Perfectly normal reaction for someone who doesn’t care

Shall we leave it there? Your fellow gooners are lovely to talk to, not sure you’re sharing their vibe
Good idea, how about you go and attempt to find a villa forum to get the reassuring comfort you crave about your manager? I’ve seen him in action and maybe he is alright for your club, thankfully he is a couple hundred miles away from mine.

Why do people miss the point. if he was truly a ‘top manager’ he would’ve managed top clubs, he get jobs at 5th placed clubs who can’t win the league for a reason as that is his level - these things work themselves out.

if we had slapped Villa nobody would be glazing him on here- quite the opposite, it is just so reactionary.
No cant talk for others but I always defend emery because he is a top manager and worked his way to the top leagues from the bottom.

No playing reputation or club relationships to skip to the top leagues like a lot of managers these days. I respect these managers more.

Unai is a very good manager for a second tier club. He knows his stuff, is a good guy, and can beat anyone in a one off game. Hard to know if he could succeed at a top club because PSG were a basket case, and when he managed us the squad was full of dickheads.

That said towards the end here he looked both clueless and broken. Annoying that he seems to get results against us, but otherwise wish him and Villa well, a proper club despite the pricks who own them

I agree that we don't know if he would be an elite manager at a top club consistently but i think the rhetoric that he fails at top clubs is way overblown. I looked it up, 7 trophies in 2 years at PSG is anything but an abject failure, didn't win a European trophy but neither have a long list of top managers prior to Enrique with the culture there. We saw what Arteta and Wenger did with the squad he had, neither had better results and most of us view them as managers who could manage big clubs in Europe. I don't get the rhetoric

Arteta looked just as broken when he had us 15th in the league at Christmas but he turned it around. I don't know why people think Emery he wouldn't have turned it around given the same backing to remove the player power that lost him his job imo.

I think for me it's just the last few games under unai. He looked broken, the tactics disappeared completely, the players looked totally lost and the fans gave up. That away game against Watford and the apathy of the last minute equaliser vs Southampton were as low as I've felt as a Fan, and I watched a midfield of hillier, jensen, mcgoldrick, and helder....

Under Arteta I always felt good things were coming even when it was crap.

Unai inherited a mess, and did well with it at first, but it unravelled so much so quickly. Wrong man at the wrong time

Unai's Plan A just doesn't suit title challengers. Direct football teams almost never win the title in a round-robin league because it leaves too much room for variance. It only works if there are no top-level possession sides in the league and your defense is extraordinary.

His style is perfect for knock-out tournaments and hit jobs on the title challengers, though, because he can gameplan for a specific matchup like very few can.

If football was like American sports with the Playoffs at the end, he'd be held in much higher esteem.

Nice that we’re playing these guys soon again at the emirates, last time we beat them at home was 2022

Emery has Villa playing well and they’re taking points off of other top teams. How long can he keep them going?

Their fans are beefing with the xg philosophy guy and now the official account is joining as well 😁

Beefing with xG only ever ends one way. Liverpool fans were also saying they could keep it going all season after the first five games. Writing is on the wall.

We will undoubtedly regress if we don’t start creating more chances.
But there’s a January window right around the corner, and Emery and his team will be well aware that that needs addressing.

If we can increase our chance creation before we start regressing to the mean then it could be a very very good season for us
(And no I don’t think we’re in a title race before anyone says it)

Emery is so much like water. He has no defined shape and he ALWAYS finds his level. I told a gimp this would happen in this fixture and that Villa's little fluke win would be punished. Never tag me.

Bad ebening.

This has been due for a while. They have played so bad vs us so many times and got some result luckily. But it was being called as masterclass lol. Same with the first half today with all the ugly time wasting and falling to the floor. Good we put them in their place. 11 match winning run my arse

Win, lose or draw, I have never seen Mikel Arteta tuck tail and refuse to shake hands like Count Chocula just did because he had his ass handed to him. Classless just like the filth in the brummy stadium and all of Emery's pathetic apologists on this forum.

Arsenal Quotes

I believe one of the best things about managing people is that we can influence lives in a positive way. That’s basically what a manager is about. When I can do that, I am very happy.
