Aston Villa: Marco Bizot

I always rated Kamara highly, I like those kind of players but still losing both Tielemens and Rogers at the same time has to be terrible.
It’s not great. Tielemans is almost worse because nobody saw it coming. Rogers everyone knew was going. But Tielemans was a proper gut punch.

We’re fairly active in the market though so I’m hoping we’re replacing them and more

Had you done a poll of our best players last season before this summer window I’d bet my mortgage on Kamara winning by it. And by some distance.

It’s nothing to do with Tielemans being sold

Isn't it a case of Tielemans being the silk and Kamara being the steel though? Need a bit of both. I always wanted us to get Tielemans on a free before you signed him. That was ridiculous value and would of complimented Rice.

Still it's probably the right time for a refresh, you got him for free and turned some cash off it and he's 29. I still remember when he was a wonderkid.

Well yeah it is, but you can still rank players by their ability even if they're not exactly the same type of player

And the majority of Villa fans would rank Kamara at the top

Villa haven’t messed about reinforcing the midfield with Manzambi and Gomes. Not bad.

Defensively, I think they're still short of the level needed to take the next step. Aside from Mings, none of their centre-backs really possess that leadership or winning mentality and he barely plays.

Injuries didn't help either, while their build up can be overly methodical at times. Building cohesion quickly will be crucial next season for them

So Villa are in for Jackson and Garnacho all of a sudden

Chelsea and Villa think we were born yesterday. Book cooking at its finest.

Mings doesn’t play because he’s nowhere near good enough.

Konsa and Torres is an excellent partnership. More reliable backup is what we need there

They are kinda forced to do shady stuff like that because the financial restrictions mean big 4 or 6 are kinda set in stone essentially.

I’d direct the ire at higher ups rather than them.

No ire, I don’t mind Villa as they are a proper club, so it is crap seeing them involved in shady sh*t with one of the most disgusting clubs in the game.

Would you say either of them have the leadership of McGrath or Laursen? Torres is great on the ball, but I'm still not convinced defensively

McGrath wasn't really a leader, just a fantastic player. Led by example I guess.
But you're right Konsa and Torres also aren't great leaders, Konsa would be the stronger of the two in that area

Conditional obligations? I feel like this one is gonna end up like Harvey Ellliot
Nah, I doubt it. Elliot wasn't wanted by Emery. He was a last minute panic signing by Monchi (along with Sancho). Emery ended up sacking Monchi because those transfers (amongst others) were so disastrous

Sounds like this time around this transfer is being driven by Emery. He wants the player. And it's not a panic given there's 6 weeks left

Not saying it'll be a good signing. He might be a disaster. But I'm confident he'll actually play

Garnacho is supposed to replace Sancho?

Mate it's a dual club FFP scam, stop pretending it's for football reasons

Aston Villa paying £60m for him on very loose 'mandatory conditions'

Obvious FFP shenanigans at play for the Rodgers deal.

Why couldn't we have done the same with Martinelli?

I don't think anyone is crying if we do a £70m plus Martinelli deal for Rogers. Or would we? It's still overpaying

Nelli's wages is 180k but Garnacho's wages is 100k

We couldn't do the same because Chelsea see us as rivals not friendly financial facilitators, and for some reason Villa see as a rival and an unfriendly opponent. Probably all stems from who voted for what in the 'lets allow bent money in' Premier League vote (talk about after the horse has bolted).

Arsenal Quotes

What is unbelievable is that I am in a position where people reproach me for making a profit. The people who lose money – nobody says a word.
