Yep. Because it’s impossible to stay up without spending loads of money. But PSR means you’re not allowed to spend that money even if your owners can afford it
Exactly. Forest had to take a point deduction just to barely stay up. Clubs will basically have to risk it all just for a chance to stay in the league.

Stan and Josh will actually watch this lot do it with their far less successful and valuable women's team and not think to replicate it. Infuriating.
You could argue we have too much class to do that. ;)

I mean, it would be a bit degrading towards the women's team if we treat them like a random asset for balance sheet shenanigans. Especially since they just won a major trophy.

I could give you numerous instances of how our club has no more class than most other business enterprises but that's a different discussion.

I don't think any of our ladies would care one single bit about a balance sheet transaction that helps the entire club and doesn't fundamentally negatively impact them in any way whatsoever. I actually think they would like their club not to be caught up to or surpassed by lesser clubs exploiting loopholes while we don't take advantage of them and then argue that we have class while being empty handed.

I think it's probably something every club, including Arsenal, is considering.
However it's probably something to keep in your back pocket until you really need it.

If Arsenal aren't in any PSR trouble then why play the ace in the hole when you don't need to? It's probably quite sensible to keep it until you need it

The downside of course is if the PL were to close the loophole you'd have missed your chance. But I'm not sure there's much chance of that

We've had to do it because we're right on the line of PSR issues. After next year our really high loss year drops off and isn't counted anymore so we should be fine. We needed this to get over that line

It absolutely ****ing sucks that clubs have to do this ****, but I would wager a lot of money on every single club having explored similar opportunities to play the game

Arsenal Quotes

The only moment of possible happiness is the present. The past gives regrets. And future uncertainties. Man quickly realised this and created religion. It forgives him what he has done wrong in the past and tells him not to worry about the future, as you will go to paradise.
