Aston Villa: The Hateful 8 Game Winless Streak

I think mostly down to you having some players who everyone will hate if they aren't on their team. Plus the ref refusing to give out cards to any of them in the first half and then nearly dislocated his shoulder in the rush to pull one out for us
Cash, meatball head McGinn and Martinez are c**ts only home support can stomach, absolute weapons all of them.

Villa had a couple of very dangerous moments, but they did very little outside of that. They played like they were down to 10 men, or a lower side who were away from home. Not how I expected at all.

**** me. Very salty in here for a team that’s just won.

Said my piece in the match thread. Disappointed given the chances we had but the better team won in the end.

I’m happy we can lose 2-0 to a title contender and be genuinely disappointed we didn’t make it 3 wins in a row against them.

Hopefully we both have good seasons
It's more to do with AM than Villa or Unai itself 😅

You've got a great team and a top manager. Some of those Rogers runs were works of art. Watkins let you down though. Could have been 2 up on another day.
Yeah said in the match thread s couple of days ago that Watkins looks rusty. He had no pre season (didn’t play a minute of it) and it’s really showing.
He was miles off it today. In retrospect Duran should probably have started.

Rogers looks like a hell of a player

Backhanded compliment if I ever heard one. "being contender for top 4".

I think he meant we have been contenders for Top Four since 2021/2022 to be fair to him, as he mentioned us also being title contenders... think he was just saying generally Arsenal are just ahead of Villa in quality and experience.

When you are speaking a different language to your main one, sometimes some people can't express fully what they mean...I don't think he was having a go at us there.

They look most dangerous with Maatsen wide left, Rodgers through the centre and Ramsey making late runs in between both.

I really want to see them in CL, the advantage they have with Emery tactically may be a big weapon along with the obvious pace in that team,

Don’t agree about Ramsey but agree with the rest.

Maatsen looks very promising

Yeah, Villa are going to trouble a whole lotta teams this season.

They are built similarly to Newcastle now for me, physical team that defends well, presses high and counter attacks like lightning. Should definitely be interesting to see Villa in the CL this season, they could trouble many teams.

Really strong team, one of the best in the league. I told people that you would be foolish to not have them back in the CL places if they stay fit this season.

I like their squad more than Newcastle, United’s, Sp.rs or Chelsea. They definitely could get a second consecutive CL birth.

That ref was a joke. Can't believe these refs are actually in this job. Swear sunday league pub refs aren't worse than these cvnts. Matchday 2 and I've already seen enough. How Onana only got 1 card is actually baffling.
