Did he actually? Granted him I never watched him but 22 G/A at 23 yo and 33 G/A at 24 yo, seems a pretty decent record to me.

Yeah he was brilliant for Coventry, play off final with them. Brentford nearly got him that summer.

Gyokeres isn't project he 27 in June but seem we really have little choices seeing Isak will cost double what Gyokeres will cost.

The guy hasn’t played in a top 5 league and he’s 27 in June. He’s definitely a project.

If you put him on a 5 year deal and he shows that he can’t hack the league we’re in massive trouble.

Not surprised as soon as Berta arrives that were linked. That man loves a Portuguese Big 3 player.

Interesting thing is though he’s 27 in June so will be coming here to start.

He played a little bit on the left before joining Sporting so maybe when everyone’s fit it’s VG - Havertz - Saka? Would cover both spots potentially.

Good point. Think he’s a bit of a Simeone type of player as well, which may explain the Berta links.

Thankfully a nothing article from Ornstein, he's obviously an option but isn't suited to this team.

Get used to it with Berta. These big signings regardless of fit from Portugal he’s all over lol.

Also wonder if Arteta is signed off on this? If Ayto stayed I reckon it’d have been Sesko guaranteed but with this news wonder if we’re going big up top?

I’d keep an eye on that manger - DoF relationship… could be something there.

The article seems absolute waffle though I won’t lie 🤣

A bit like the Liverpool like Kvara crap Ornstein pulled in Jan.

All guesswork from the main man.

More than anything after having Jesus and Kai lead the line for us I just want someone who eats breathes and sleeps scoring goals. Like it should be the first thing he thinks about when he gets out of bed and the last thing he thinks about when he goes to sleep.

I think Gyokeres is that guy. He’s hungry for goals. He will do whatever it takes to score. He’ll work on it, he’ll perfect it, because he wants it. Guys like Kai they just not hungry enough for it.

This is how I feel about him. I'm big on Sesko, but my main thing I think he needs to improve on is his aggression and hunger to get shots away and goals. I think that's Gyokeres biggest strength. He's a proper old school number 9.

I wonder if @Rex Stone theory about Berta will prove correct, in that he might buy 2 forwards to lessen the gamble about 1 being a success?

I still think we not moved on from Sesko yet. Gyokeres will be a target for sure but not the prime target. Arteta still want Sesko and Williams in his team imo

Oh wow an Ornbomb in March.

Gyok is an interesting one. Wouldn't be my first choice but would be the first choice of so many people.

I think you'd still need an elite creator at LW or L8 if you bring in Gyokeres but hes the right age, good fee, better value for money than Sesko etc. I think it's probably a push from Berta as well, very much an Atletico type signing.

PL defenders are miles quicker than guys from the Portuguese league. This guy couldn’t lay a glove on Gabriel and Saliba (granted they’re the best).
He did alright against us and was feeding off scraps.

Check the match thread from our games against Sporting and you’ll see that he impressed quite a few people with the little he did.

Arsenal Quotes

"Arsenal come streaming forward now in surely what will be their last attack.

A good ball by Dixon, finding Smith for Thomas, charging through the midfield... It's up for grabs now! Thomas! Right at the end!

What an unbelievable climax to the League season"

Brian Moore on the Thomas' winning goal at Anfield in 1989
