Anyway, feels like decision finally made. Either way if Kai pulls up impressive numbers in this set up, surely either will surpass that.

Say it with me, class:

- "The Slovenian Havertz"

For the more advanced students out there, we also sugest you practice:

- "The Balkans Giroud if he is from the south of the country, at least that's what google's horrible AI search told me"

Are you telling me you've seen Havertz do this?

Exactly! If the choice is Šeško, then it would be great to show faith in him. And if it turns out to be the wrong decision, so be it. For all our sakes, I truly hope he becomes something special in an Arsenal shirt for years to come.

We had Merino knocking them in for fun, so chances look good for Sesko.

Likewise, I have my reservations as I’ve seen him quite a few times in the Bundesliga + CL this season and the last.

It’s not about his potential per se (before anyone quotes me with some BS) but more so our strategy about securing a major next season. I don’t think we’re making the right moves in terms of options for a variety in the squad and to switch things up.
People keep saying we have been waiting, and keeping our powder dry for a special striker like Isak. That's why its okay not to sign anyone in January, last summer etc.

If that special striker turns out to be the same one that we didn't put in enough effort to get last summer, it's extremely underwhelming

To answer, Gyok has an inherent hunger and instinct to score goals. Šeško might, but he doesn’t posses that yet. It could be age. We are not at a nurturing stage. You reflect from a risk perspective, and the probability in terms of an immediate impact is Gyok. It’s about goals, yeah?
Brother. Hunger and instinct won't help gokeres when he is playing low blocks 80% of the time. I don't mind him as a player but he is not what we need. Also gokeres heading is non existant. Who will attack the ball from the Saka back post crosses. Go watch his goals. Most are scores from a fast counter. How many goals like this we score ? Probably no more than 10 the whole season.

I’ve watched him.

I was a big fan until I actually watched him…

He’s so damn raw man. Even his best attribute (ball striking) is wildly inconsistent. His worst attribute (lack of agility) is something that will never improve.

Yes there’s “potential” but there’s also the risk that he never fulfills it. Idk what the attrition rate is for young strikers but it’s just not something you gamble with if you’re really serious about winning the big trophies next season.

All this transfer tells me is that our actual goal is just to be thereabouts for the next 4-5 years. Trophies are a secondary objective. Which to be fair we knew already.

There’s as much chance that Gyok turns out to be a dud (imo), which would set us back even more than having a raw CF that will take a year or two to develop.

It’s pretty clear though that Mikel prefers Big Ben, and at the end of the day he’s the manager. I don’t think forcing players on him that he doesn’t would end well.

Last paragraph is spot on honestly. What was the point of bringing in Berta, if we’re just gonna sign the players Arteta wants?
I’d honestly rather Watkins over Sesko. I want to win next season.

Also this signing shows that Havertz is most likely gonna be starting striker for large parts of next season.

Yeah but at least it signals to everyone that we want to win now. I wouldn’t complain if we stormed the castle and died trying.

He should have the self awareness to know by now that what he wants in a striker doesn’t yield results so maybe it’s time to let someone else have a go?

If he flops we can always pray Berta manages to do other teams what Chelsea did to us with Kai.
