Im a little intrigued by it but it literally exists because the Saudis wanted to be able to play the big teams so they funded it and Infantino
The first round gonna be so boring because it's basically big teams against weak teams it'll get interesting last 8

Fooball is dead for the next 10 years. Those Saudi's will kill football until their WC hosting is over.

You always say this but it’s really not the same thing.

Emirates has been run as a normal profit generating business for quite some time now. Hence they’re not dishing out insane sponsorships to us for sports washing. It’s the world’s biggest long haul carrier. They don’t need to wash anything. It would be like Beyonce running a promo discount for a concert. Also the Al Maktoums and Nahyans have plenty of animosity between them at times. The whole City escapade arguably started because the (much much) richer Nahyans were jealous of what Dubai was achieving on the world stage and wanted to raise their profile.

Unless your point here is just to conflate anything and everything to do with the entire United Arab Emirates?

I am saying that we are sponsored by the UAE. The government of Dubai is a branch of the UAE government. It's leader is the UAE:s prime minister, vice president (in tandem with the owner of City) and a member of the Federal Supreme Council. I haven't mentioned sports washing.

It's wasted of time competition that fifa added and make it interesting because winner get 100M
Nope. It's prestigious. They are making it like a proper world cup tournament. Every club has their own training camp base in a city. The infrastructure, the scale of it is world cup esque.

Quite insane really. I can't wait for us to play in it 2029

It's the Americans that kiII football.

PSG - Atletico, Boca Juniors - Benfica, Fluminense - Dortmund and Real Madrid - Al-Hilal looks interesting in the first round. But many of the players will be exhausted and struggle to care so the quality will probably be low.

Well in that case I may just start referring to you as Duckspray from now on as you and hairspray are both members of Arsenal Mania.

This is a good outcome for everyone. I’m pleased.

Can't you say the same for Etihad and Qatar Airways? All "normal" profit generating businesses that just coincidentally bankroll their national backed teams.

My point is that the sportswashing / raising profile thing is not a shared objective between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. If anything they are competing objectives.

That’s why Etihad exists. Otherwise they could have just used Emirates to serve Abu Dhabi as well. It’s why Abu Dhabi built the ADGM to compete for financial services after Dubai lead the way with DIFC. I could go on and on here.

Assuming that somehow Arsenal would not be allowed to compete with Man City on legal matters because “we’re sponsored by Emirates” is so far removed from reality only someone as idiotic as the mother ducker would suggest it. The two states literally compete on just about everything. Thats putting aside the very simple fact that we HAVE taken the other side to Man City at every possible step when it comes to 115 etc.

“Oh but but *quack* but Emirates *quack quack*”

Hopefully this will be in the bag after the CWC. Him and Havertz are two great players to have for the starting CF spot. And if not.. maybe Jesus will arise when the weather turns cold?

Yeah, that's definitely the same thing.

The man that control the ownership of Emirates Airline is the Prime Minister + Vice President of the UAE and a very powerful member of the UAE:s Federal Supreme Council. We are definitely sponsored by the UAE.

I find it very strange we had extremely strong interest in Gyok confirmed by reputable sources only for that to go completely cold and everything is now focused on Šeško, now these Saudi links come out when it's been made clear that all parties want this move to Arsenal.

Feel like there's been mind games going on from both sides in one way or another to either lower the asking price or get a move on to secure a deal. All things point to Šeško at Arsenal though. This just seems a dead cert at this point.
