Benjamin White: Big Ben Is Hurt Again

We've gone past the need for him as a serious option same with Zinchenko and Jesus before him, Ramsdale, and now looking like Havertz and a certain midfielder who i'll not name in case i get a chewing from this forum. Partey too. Martinelli obviously another one.

Only thing is he's good calibre of player to be a backup but he also strikes me as someone who needs regular gametime to be at the level required, not someone who can come in from the cold and hit the ground running.

Yeah I wonder if there’s a bit of an overreaction here? Maybe it was just a bad game from someone who doesn’t play that much and has struggled for fitness?

He’s clearly 2nd choice but is he that bad? Bad enough that he can’t be a backup? I don’t mind getting a nice transfer fee and getting a cheaper but dependable player in though.

Berta had better be eyeing his replacement. He's toast.

had a pretty ineffective/damaging last couple of games but maybe he can still get back into form, I don't think he's completely forgotten how to football but maybe just not quite there right now

What has happened to his positional awareness of late? Has been doing his best Bellerin impression.

Was he better than Mosquera? Why did Tetta persist with him for two bad games? I hope he doesn't start against City.

Still Pining for Wenger
Defensively cooked. We fried this guy physically, so can’t even blame him. Such a shame, as he was Mr. Consistent.
Mr. 6/10 consistent tbh.

White at his best was good, but would he have gotten into any other top side? He needed replacing if we were to go up a level, but its a pity he can't perform as a backup now.

Multiple instances of former players telling us how White would play through injuries on the regular because we needed him, yet @BigPoppaPump is disappointed no one is dragging him into the mud.
While that is certainly true and I don't think the guy should be buried for his clear physical decline caused by the manager's actual malfeasance, the goals that have been conceded on his side of late have been less about what he's lost physically and more about losing track of his man in borderline unprofessional fashion. It's one thing to not have the legs to deal with a pacy winger, we can excuse that. It's another to just not have the positional awareness and focus to track your assigment's runs.

Will be harsh to blame him for the penalty. Scuffed shot which came off his knee. So unfortunate.

But otherwise he didn't have a good game vs lookman and his attacking contributions have also dropped off.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsène Wenger's idea is not only to play good football. It's to play good football to win. In my day, we knew that with our style we could hurt teams and win trophies too. But we did it our way, with the positional game, passing, movement.
