...what a quality German keeper looks like!
Lehmann made more than his fair share of mistakes, was dropped on more than one occasion due to poor form.

He was an excellent shot stopper though, as is Leno. They’re actually quite similar in many ways but Lehmann would be a walking red card these days and some of his antics at the time were frankly embarrassing. Was bailed out a lot by the quality we had further up the pitch.

Emi Martinez believed in himself so much he asked Raul to cut his valuation in half down to 10m. Imagine backing a **** who didn't believe in himself to compete for the job here and wanted to cut his value in half to leak goals elsewhere.

He made errors for sure, but he was better than Leno...he also has periods where he was right up there with the best keepers at the time, and in the 1990s/2000s there were some amazing keepers compared to now.

Massive character too, while Bernd is very bland really...that being said though I still like Leno, he is a good player...was just frustrated, as he has been poor for a few weeks now.

See Emi put one on a plate for Liverpool, then conceded the winner immediately after making a good save...

That cheers me up a little

Thought Leno was one of the bright spots over the past few seasons. In poor form in recent months, but I'll cut him some slack. The whole team's been poor most of this season. Even Saka and ESR don't look like the players that lifted the team in December/January/February.

Martinez has basically made his career since the restart. Let 's see how he does with the fans present. He was still iffy for us in his few appearances for us prior to the restart after he came back from Reading.

Leno's been iffy these last few weeks though.

Martinez has been a lot better and the stats are there to prove it. But more importantly why couldn’t Arteta see that he made us solid at the end of last season, confident, making superb saves and commanding in the box. A manager rises or falls by these types of decisions.
Its not even about the stats imo. Arteta talks about cohesion. The defence seemed more cohesive with Emi behind them. Arteta had a winning formula dumped on him by Leno's injury and binned it
