Forgot Eduardo. What a find from Wenger. On ability alone he should be rated higher than Fraudba.
Dudu was a top striker. Like a Robbie Fowler with that short backlift. The goals against West Ham at home and Everton away in 2007 spring to mind. A terrible shame what ended up happening that season.

He could and should have had a fantastic career at Arsenal.

Wenger getting that team 3rd place was his greatest achievement; damn. Best manager ever imo
I got to say Ferguson leading Man United that season to 2nd place with 89 points was also one of his best achievements ever. Prolly even better than the treble.

League was there for the taking all we needed was some investment to bring the team up to the next level. It’s what RVP wanted the board to do and they wouldn’t commit so he left. Nothing wrong with leaving an employer who doesn’t match your ambition. The league in 12/13 was especially weak and Utd walked it unopposed. That could easily have been ours with some investment

Not really, our young players like Wilshere, Ramsey and Gibbs needed one more season to develop. The next year we were contenders until April and spent most days top of the league. Finished 79 points, seven off City who won the title that year. It was mainly injuries, again, to Ramsey and Walcott that stopped us.

Still, ended our trophy drought and did similar the next season. That Arsenal team of 2013-2017 is underrated. Best times of the Emirates era and actually won silverware.

The investment into the team under Wenger at the Emirates era was never enough. We should have done more but the ambition wasn’t there. If Wenger was backed the way Arteta was we would have won a couple of league titles in that period.

RvP continuously say he picks United over Arsenal and how he hates Arsenal fans and to this day
but Arsenal fans would continuously fawn over him

Giroud say thanks Arsenal and Arsenal fans hate him to the core to this day
Auba didn't say anything and some Arsenal fans hate him for being against Arteta

Many Arsenal fans are one of those * girls with Hybristophilia

Like how he thanked the club after he won the CL with Chelsea? Or was it the Europa league?
Overall career at Arsenal Giroud would be better but we both know RVP is the much better player.

I was only half joking in my other post, but wow. Has everyone forgotten Giroud's back to back goal droughts in the business end of the season when we were chasing a title?

Im not Jesus' or Havertz's biggest fan but if they went 12+ games without scoring a goal at CF, the pitchforks would be out. Well maybe for Havertz.

I keep seeing Rvp was a c*nt, it hurt at the time but in hindsight was it really that bad? He was kinda right.

As for Ade he didn’t have the longevity but he’s up there. I’d have voted for him if he had atleast one more 30 goal season.

My issue with RVP is that he didn't say that for the club's benefit, he said it to make his position at the club untenable.

That was an awful message to send as the club captain as well. To do that, then bounce? How did that affect the players who played the following season? The club's standing?

I can't stand Havertz, that doesn't mean it's a good idea for Ødegaard to come out and trash him in public. RVP trashed the entire club, not to encourage Gazidis and Wenger to sign better players, but to leave and make himself out to be the victim. Sociopathic Dutch prick.

Let's be real. People at that level? Have enormous egos. Why would Gazidis or Wenger respond well to being called out like that in public then rush to sign players?

You really going to say Auba didn’t match or get within the same realms of output as Vp? Who was in better teams?

As purely a goal scorer, sure. By output I also meant creation, not just scoring which is why I said G/A. There weren't many better goal scorers than Auba in football history but the position demands much more than that. And even then, RVP matched it throughout his career when looking at goals per 90 while being a far better overall CF with his passing, control in close areas, creativity etc.

To your second question, I really don't believe the teams RVP peaked in at Arsenal were better than the teams Auba peaked in. Wenger was just built different. Go position by position and it's at worst equal IMO.

I think Lacazette was a better CF than Auba as well, and I don't think that's a hot take considering Auba was often shifted out left to accomodate Laca. I generally don't value pure goal numbers in a vacuum, which is consistent with my posting history defending Jesus pre-injury etc. Much prefer CF who can produce when needed but also elevate the players around them.

You’re right in that I dont rate Giroud but Van Persie was injured most of his time here and had one really good season then left. At least Giroud won some trophies here.

As a player Giroud isn’t even comparable to Van Persie but their Arsenal careers Giroud did more.

Would you take Ramsey over Fabregas? The former scored two FA Cup winning goals, won three FA Cups compared to Fabregas' one.

I think Giroud had the assist for Ramsey's winner in 2014, can't remember him dragging us to the FA Cup wins in total though.

Giroud had a bit more luck in being in "better" teams.

Giroud I could just never get on board with.

Somehow it was even more annoying when you'd see him score a worldie scorpion kick or something because the previous 10 games you've watched him miss 5 sitters

Don't get me wrong he could be effective at times and he was a good team player but him being our regular 9 cost us titles for sure.

Fabregas and RVP are better players but Ramsey and Giroud ultimately won more for Arsenal so they had the better Arsenal careers.
