Monaco actually rejected our 92m offer. It's not like we declined to signed him.
So it signing him was actually not our decision

Arsenal's £92million move for Thomas Lemar appears to have collapsed after the Monaco winger indicated he was unwilling to play for a Europa League club.
Monaco accepted it, the player turned us down not the club. Nobody turns down 92 mil for Lemar.

**** Law's version of it was different though, he indicated the deal just took too long and Lemar couldn't be done with the stress of it - he was with France national team at the time.

End of the day, we would have complained non stop if it actually happened despite what anyone tries to say tbh.

He's a decent player but the price tag and replacing Sanchez directly would have killed him before he started.

Can’t believe Arsenal were actually gonna spend 92m on a player, on Lemar of all players imagine how bad it would have been?

Looking at it again you could make a very good case for Ox too. £40m for a very inconsistent, injury prone player with 1 year on his contract. Very good business.

I don't think we can really put Raul up there as it stands. We don't know enough about the goings on behind the scenes and what he actually did.

Is he a criminal? For sure.
But he brought in some good players and sold some unwanted players for decent fees. So he was a pretty mixed bag. The Pepe fee is a pretty big black mark against him though I must admit.

Given our financial issues and the state of the market Raul and his contacts would have come in handy this window. Can't say I was sorry to see the back of him though.

Lemar! Along with Xhaka, Kola and Mustafi we'd be stuck with an even worse decision by Wenger and co in multiple areas.

Not sure not signing Lemar should be an option. The club would have 100% done it if they could have. That would have been the worst transfer off all time by a country mile. Convinced Gazidis and Co had some sort of agenda to destroy this club.

League is very weak
I don’t believe we were ever signing Lemar for 90m when that fee could’ve signed nearly every other player in the world at the time.

Even today, 90M signs you nearly anybody.

I think binning Raul was the best thing we’ve done, all of his deals have nearly flopped. We signed Sokrstis for 17-20M only 2 seasons ago and we terminated his deal this week. Shocking deal after shocking deal, so bad he got sacked.

Signing Auba should be an option. It was a obvious deal to do, but since he's come in, bar this season, his goalscoring record has been unreal. He brought silverware to the club as well.

Nothing Wrong With Me
I wanted to keep Iwobi and try him for few more years but it's hard to refuse a 40 M offer for him when you have Saka, ESR, and Nelson behind him, two of them that have become starters atm for us.

I think Iwobi was tried and tried and tried again. I would have accepted £20m for him!

I feel like we’d have renewed Alexis if we could have.

I’m sure the club tried a few times but he’s never renewed a contract at any of the clubs over his career so pretty sure he was itching to move.
But AM told me the club screwed up all chance of him extending because we’re **** at contract negotiations.
