Between Paisely and Rice

Arsenal had played 13 matches since the injury to Van Persie and astonishingly he is Arsenal's top scorer , for they since have scored 18 goals , most of them scored by midfielders and defenders and ridiculously only two of them by the main striker left , Adebayor, who in this season has played the best of 29 league matches scoring only 8 goals despite playing alongside some excellent play makers, ironically Gilberto who is a holding midfielder, has scored the same number of goals, so with this modest record it is puzzling why he is still a first team regular ?, ( it looks that he will probably a burden on Arsenal as Cygan was before just because Wenger does not want that he is a human and may make mistakes ), and would he be able to lead the attack next season if the Gunners had to face similar situation of the injuries , suspensions, or even the departure of Henry?, which may happen as it is fact of life in football , so as Van Persie, Henry, Walcott, and the promising Bentdner, will be available next season , then Adebayor , Aliadiere, and even Baptista, should leave and with the presence of Diaby, and Denelson , so there is no need for Gilberto, while the money of the transfers of those players can be used to sign another defender and another instinctive goal scorer like Robinho particularly that there are some unsettled things with Real Madrid and rumors that Gallas want to go to Madrid which would help in acquiring the precious services of the Brazilian , also Owen or Eto'o would be a very good option if they were able to leave their clubs , and to take over from Henry whenever he chooses to leave or retire, but any new signings should be completed before the preseason training to help them settle down and get used to the Gunners sophisticated marvelous way of play and start charging strongly for the trophies from the beginning .

After the departure of Dien , a lot of speculations surfaced about the future of Wenger , and despite of the contribution of them to the success of club , there is no need for all this fuss as Arsenal has never been a single man club or team and will never be , Wenger will leave or retire sooner or later and what is important is the continuity , and so far it does not look that the Gunners are preparing for that , yet it should be Rice to succeed Wenger as he has been with the club for about thirty years in different capacities and conditions , so his loyalty is unquestionable , as well as his contribution in the current team and future plans , particularly if he is to assisted by either Adams or O'leary , as the case for Liverpool when Paisely succeeded the great Shankly and proved to be superior to his boss.

If Ade had taken all the penalties Gilberto has taken, he would have about 4 more goals to his name.

He has been a good player this season, and he just got a new contract. He is our 2nd choice striker, and his job is mainly to create space and hold to the ball, apart from of course scoring goals which undoubtedly should be his #1 priority. He has improved on his finishing, and he is much better at this stage than he was last season. If he works on his finishing further, he will come good.

I think your choice of Rice is pretty much an ignorant guess (as opposed to an educated guess), as you do not know how good a manager he will be, but I'd certainly like to give him a chance if Wenger gave him his support to do so. Still, it doesn't seem to me like he likes managing teams, but that he likes working with players and imposing tactics instead of coming up with them.

Overall this entry was easier to read than your previous ones, so well done there.

truth be known Liverpool took a massive risk when they appointed Paisley, and it was mainly a [panic decision as truth be known they thought Shanks wouldnt go through with it and Paisely would have taken a step back (cause he was that type of man)

not sure Rice would be upto it, and anyway football has changed massivley sionve then
