Boycotting Arsenal

I was less invested under Emery than probably any time previously. Due to lockdown and nothing going on I’ve become way more interested in us again.

Watching local non league games and the like isn’t an option right now so I have time for us. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get the love I once had for the club back even if we turn the corner.

I used to feel a connection to the likes of Fabregas, Kolo and Van Persie which just got worse with all the painful losses and betrayals.

Hard to feel much with a club that once was renowned for its class and values when its laid off so many employees, freezes out it’s players, hands out dodgy backhanders to agents and even kicks the mascot to the curb.

Kolo to Man City was a bad one, didn't see it coming at all...all the others you saw for a year or so, but Toure was like losing your big brother out of nowhere :(

They all hurt mate tbh.

Cole going to Chelsea hurt. Flamini to Milan. Adebayor, Nasri, Clichy and Kolo to City. Hleb to Barca was a killer as well.

Even the way Sol left first time round was brutal and that’s not even mentioning the big two of RVP and Cesc.

Every time we seemed to be building and getting ready to compete we’d lose somebody.

Real thing i don't like is how it turns you into an arsehole. Not like one of those douches that turn violent but just someone whose not very pleasant to be with.

I know what you mean. I feel the same when I play poker in the casino.

This is going to sound melodramatic and even more so coming from me. But i've genuinely had enough of this ****e. I said i'd boycott after Leicester and failed which has done me **** all favours. I'd appreciate some advice on ignoring the club for the foreseeable as i'm not willing to get angry over such turgid ****e.

I used to let football affect me, during the Cesc/van Persie years... even later with Özil, Cazorla. How frustrating it was to dominate teams and not win.

Not anymore though. Everything I‘ve loved about this club is gone.

Advice for anyone that lets football affect them to the point of being unpleasant to others, take a long break and find a new hobby.

I'm travelling the world for 2 years now and despite EVERYTHING changing I maintained to watch every Arsenal game in full despite being in remote places a lot(most of the time I had to watch the games afterwards)

Watching us play was something I used to enjoy so much. It was creative, it was artistic. A few years back when I had a job working 80-90hours a week our games were something I used to look forward to all week, it was like a ritual.
One that I have kept for 15 years.

The enjoyment is gone now and it feels like crossroads.
If the brand of football does not change in the foreseeable future I might disconnect emotionally.
I really hope "beautiful football Arsenal" didn't die with Wenger. I'm not too optimistic right now though as Arteta seems to value "systematic robot football" quite highly.

I really blame Kroenke and would love to hit him where it hurts (his wallet). People are too zealous about supporting the club, but to me... supporting the club is getting him the **** out.

Literally any supporter is going to be a bit more negative after a loss. Just like they will be more positive after a win. Why do you think you’re so special?

I used the word boycotting in the heat of the moment. I was trying to think of another word but couldn't. I'm more looking to evolve how i follow the club . I'm not going to go from invested to not in the snap of two fingers but likewise, i ain't going to sleepwalk to more depression by getting angry at a club that makes 55 people redundant, sacks a dinosaur and then gives 4 year deals to a 28 back up right back and a Brazillian Man City flop after two games before getting injured, a 3 year deal to a has been and 3ook a week to a 32 year old who looks like he's jacking it in,

The club is ridiculous, immoral and sick.

Just stop giving them money and your emotions. Aka, break up with her.

I can feel you mate, we've been through bad patches before but never as bad as now whilst playing terrible football as we do now. Do not worry. Just wait till Arteta is gone from this club and things will be better.

I blame some of the posters here who are overhyping Arteta and giving people false hope as well. The bigger the expectations the bigger the disappointment. Just tone down your expectations knowing that we have a manager who have had zero experience as manager prior to joining us.

Again, has nothing to do with Kroenke, our management is incompetent, especially the guys working on contracts/transfers.
I'm sure Kroenke is not the guy who is happy to throw millions on deadwood as our manager is, but Kroenke gets the blame when things don't work out

Have to agree, it's not like I love Kroenke but it's not really like we haven't spent.

Our poor spending and incompetence in most areas of football at the club have/are killing us.

Rival forums are gonna love this.

Enjoy the ride guys, if you don’t laugh you’ll cry. Our manager is learning on the job, our defenders and more defensive midfielders will shine under Arteta. Our attackers won’t, we’re going to be a bit boring going forwards for a bit. Is what it is.

Let’s hope he does learn on the job rather than turn out to be the Spanish Pulis. Hopefully we can grow into the season and win the Europa.

I'm lucky I now just watch Arsenal out of habit more than anything else, defeats don't really get to me that much. It used to be different because under Wenger I was obviously way more invested in it.
My friends who support rivals try to get at me after losses like today, personally I’m just happy Grealish got an assist for my fantasy football.

Can’t break what is already broken.
