As much as I’m all in on Vini, Berta’s job is for him to do better than “ah well we tried to get Vini we have to try defend a title with Tzolis/Nelli now”

Thats more saying for now PSG wants him to stay unless someone stupid enough to pay this much. Barcola actually played more minutes, more starts in last season Ligue 1 and UCL than Kvara, Dembele or Doue, so he is quite trusted by Enrique. Its mainly PSG chase of YanD which fuel rumors that Barcola most likely available for sale thus links to clubs looking for LW. Now that PSG failed to get YanD and no forward comes its natural that PSG put that price. If PSG manages to get reported targets Akliouche and Torres, thats when Barcola is more likely to be sold at reasonable price.

Barcola is already at PSG arguably the current best team of club football, last season played more than Kvara, Dembele, or Doue, under Enrique a pretty demanding coach afaik, perform well at Ligue 1, UCL, and World Cup, so he should be used to expectations.

As per @db10fan's recent post it sounds as if there is a lot to do still before he is fully available.

I would think as well psg would be looking at how our vini quest is going before agreeing a deal with Liverpool in case a bidding war can be initiated.

I am not sure why Liverpool are so keen on him anyway, Rio looks the real deal on the left, plus they have just signed Victor Munoz there too.

They need a right winger more and they are much more plentiful. Again as db10 stated, neto would be a much better catch for them.

That could well be a good thing if that is the case.

Our interest reminds me of very much of our interest in Rogers, there being a feeling among many that he was a younger version of Eze, similar quality and opportunity to be better in time but not much between them now.

Barcola is a similar player to martinelli, some plusses and minusses, but deep down a speed merchant left winger who is good in defence and sometimes questionable with their final ball.

If we were trading in Eze for Rogers would we do £50m plus Eze (to reflect their recent valuations), i would think some would but many wouldn't for no definite immediate upgrade.

Given PSG's recent valuation, you would be looking at the equivalent of martinelli plus £100m for Barcola.

That is a huge amount of money for what could be very marginal gains.

Don’t know what they were thinking spending 200m+ on strikers last summer and going for another 130m forward now
