📢 Rumour Bruno Guimaraes

Doesn't have a cat, often gets heard saying: Meow!
Bruno Rice double pivot is disgusting. Play whoever you want as the third midfielder, let them just attack.

This would be perfect for Eze but its a shame he is a ghost. Need a new top 10.

I think I could get on board with this. He would add some sandpaper to our squad.
The kind of player you hate when he plays for the other team, but love when he plays for your team.

i don’t buy this. Sir Alex did it with Rooney, Carrick, Berbatov & Ferdinand. It won’t limit the ceiling if we essentially buy the best of the best like Rogers, Tonali, Bruno G etc
What @Batman said, also buying players of that level from rivals in 2026 isn’t cheap anymore. Even adjusting for transfer fee inflation those kind of buys would be 100M each, they’d also be more willing to sell abroad for a lower price.

Bruno G and Roger’s are good players but Sir Alex was signing undoubtedly world class guys from prem teams and they’d just bend over. That doesn’t happen anymore.

Because all teams in the league are stacked with cash compared to back in the good old days. Its a different playing field.

He signed 9 of the top 44 ever higher PL signings from any country when adjusted for inflation. That's nearly a 1/4 of them and there were a load more slightly below top 44

Also in terms of fees per football inflation SAF signed 7 above our highest in Declan Rice

Thing is Fergie used to rotate quite a bit, Arteta just sticks with the same lineup most weeks unless he’s forced into changes

Is nelli potentially just better than Gordon? Feel our system is going to make a dry winger look even more dead than they are

It’s like comparing Neto and Garnacho tbf. Attributes wise they’re similar players, both can’t dribble therefore they just kick the ball and hope for the best. Two basic wide players who don’t have much variety in playing the position.

Small tweaks in a system or a purple patch can mask things but they’ll revert to the type eventually.

Hilarious seeing Newcastle supporters thinking Bruno owes them some type of loyalty. He has three or four years of peak ability left why would he spend it in mid table mediocrity at Newcastle?

Played for 3 clubs before geordies. Dumb fans at all clubs are happy to see a player arrive (and leave another), yet take it personally when roles are reversed.

Nice! I'm jealous. Croatia is awesome.
Very much so! I'm in Navalja at the moment, can see the sea from the villa. Only out here for 5 days but I'm loving it.

Guimaraes would be a decent signing for me. One I can't be mad at. Bit of an older profile but I think there's enough youth in there with likes of MLS coming through. Guimaraes doesn't quite solve the Rice problem of replacing his legs but he adds a lot of bite and passing efficiency.
