Newcastle don’t sell cheap do they? Isak, Tonali, Gordon and now this guy. They ain’t taking a haircut on any of these deals.

This is an interesting because teams usually let players leave for bigger clubs when it’s clear the player is too good for them.

It’s kind of one of those unspoken rules in football so I wonder what Newcastle are going to do here. From a board perspective it makes sense to sell him and build towards their next competitive window which will be in 2-4 years but there’s something about Arsenal that makes these teams lose all sense.
I think they hate Liverpool more.

I get the feeling they will let him go for around 70-75m which is okay for all parties.

Gordon went cheapish looking at the market. And Isaak was seen as elite and 140-150m type of signing and they sold for 120m

We were completely priced out of the Isak transfer don’t remember many if any saying we should have been in for him. With his injury record it was certainly expensive. Gordon is fair after the last 2 seasons which weren’t very impressive.

Looking back we actually weren't. We could of got Isak instead of Gyokeres and Madueke and given Ethan extra minutes out wide. Isak would obviously have got injured and we'd have a big problem with Havertz, Isak, Jesus and Merino all going down

i think £75m + £5m in add-ons will get this deal done. For a quality player like Bruno and for the current market its correct.
I think that's overpaying for a 29 year old. But winning the PL and reaching two finals should have added to the bank and in order to progress perhaps that's the price we should/need to pay.

As long as it doesn't affect spending in other positions why should we care?

Yeah i know thats overpaying but look at the market Bouaddi talent 80-100m, Scott 80-100m, and maybe Kone 40-50m... They are not the same level than Bruno.

On the bright side, Bruno will have some resell value to Saudi when his game is not PL worthy anymore.

Newcastle poorly handled the situation last season, they should have sacked Howe and brought fresh ideas with the likes or De Zerbi, Iraola and such, i'm sure all of their good player want to leave knowing they'll have to play another season under Howe

Bruno must feel the same as he's seeing all his mates leave for bigger clubs, why should he be the only one to stay there ? He'll definitely leave, hopefully to join us but i could see Real Madrid being interested, since they won't be signing Enzo and they need a player like Bruno

Be so satisfying to **** Newcastle and take their best player, their fans thought they’d have won the league by now when they got taken over.
