Not the biggest fan of him - very slow in this latest World Cup, not denying that he has proven himself in the EPL but this isn't the creative signing that our midfield needs for me.

I'm guessing Odefaart will be staying and that we don't bring a creative CM this year, so just not feeling this signing at all.

Also if Rice is out, Zubimendi and Guimares don't give that flair to me that we lacked last season, it's just me though and I hope I'm proven wrong.

He might fit as the CM instead of Rice, spamming some long balls towards Gyokeres which we lacked a bit last season, so that part to me is interesting - but not fond of him being very slow and think we need somebody a bit more 'lively'.

I think they hate Liverpool more.

I get the feeling they will let him go for around 70-75m which is okay for all parties.
I feel like 70M is so much for a 28/9 yo with one year left on his deal. If the rumours of a club option are true then it’s basically two years left on his deal which isn’t bad.

Just seems like a lot and I don’t think they’ll dk a deal at 70

It is 3 years with the option.

Newcastle haven't officially come out and he isn't for sale have they?
Doesn't matter if they come out or not the guy told them he want to leave they won't force him to stay and Newcastle already lost two key players who could've stayed longer than Bruno in Isak and Tonali. At the moment for them is about to try get the maximum money my prediction deal will be done around 70M£

What needs to be highlighted is that whenever Newcastle players wanted to leave, the club never sold them cheaply. They maximized the value of every departure. Gordon for £70m, Tonali for £100m, and Isak for £130m. Bruno would cost at least £75m, including £5m in add-ons.

Oul esporte citing their own sources that we're making a final bid of 72m quid.

Player wants to come, told parent club but won't force an exit, as he believes a deal will be reached.

A bit there about how Newcastle sees this as a nice profit turn around on the player and that they know he'll go up a level for a big six team.

Reads as something his team or Kia fed the press, so take it with a pinch of salt.

70-80 is a fair price for him in my opinion.

Hopefully Newcastle see sense, but yeah I share the same concerns as @MikelHadADream that Newcastle start thinking they are bigger than they actually are.

Bruno doesn’t want to tarnish his legacy there, but it’s early July, if it gets to August and Newcastle still haven’t accepted a bid he’ll happily tarnish his legacy trust me. Cos for him there’s no scenario where he pulls on a Newcastle shirt next season.

Other teams have a shot of highjacking this given his quality if we go cold.

Clear he wants to join us, but I reckon he'd join united just as easily. Not to mention that if someone form abroad comes in, the fee could be a bit lower.

It's fine if we have a valuation and we want to stick to it and decide to move on, but dragging this out could favor Newcastle just as much.

Don't forget that Kia has his hands on this.

I'm not a fan of him either but the guy is completely misunderstood.

Him moving slow isn't new. He always moved around like he had stiff hips. He's simply not a Rice alternative, he's a playmaker, always has been.
This is very much Arteta conceding that he needs more aggressive and progressive passers in midfield.

It's a signing directly addressing our creativity.

70+ add-ons is fair, imo.

It's just posturing from Newcastle, like I just wrote, I think they might be banking on this taking a bit longer to the point others join the queue.

Kia will find a CL club from outside the PL if things stall and Newcastle are for more likely to sell then.

The headloss in their forum is laughable. It's like they want him to go anywhere else but to us. As if we're at the same level in any way shape or form. Our last season alone (Pl winners & lost UCL final on pens) is more than they have achieved in their whole existence but they are pretending like it would be a sideways move. Even Spuds are more relevant than them ffs

Same thing happen when Isak left to Liverpool they didn't want Liverpool to sign him

Only other clubs who can realistically hijack are City, Liverpool and Real Madrid. No one else is going to overpay for a player who's 29 in November. United/Chelsea aren't going that way. Can't see Bayern going for a player of that age bracket and the rest of Europe are broke.

Arsenal Quotes

Everybody knows how much I love Arsenal - I became a fan. And to be out here [in front of the Emirates as a statue] celebrating a goal against Sp*rs, there's not much else to say after that. Like I've said before: Once a Gooner, always a Gooner.
