This thread shouldn’t be about Saka vs Madueke. It’s about Saka being way below par and why? We all know he’s a top player but we really haven’t seen much proof it in the last 2 seasons. It’s a concern. Has he lost pace? Is he still not 100%?
What's the why? He is playing in the most competitive league in the world and is not fully recovered from injuries that could stifle a players career. Especially a player that loves to run with the ball and play one v one. Have you seen how injuries affected Gabriel Jesus? Did you guys just start watching football recently and have any of you ever played competitive sports before?

The why? Was asking others what they think. You’ve responded, thank you. It’s the obvious choice ie that he’s been affected long term by his injuries. Another question or why? Is was he overplayed for a long period of time, and this led to long term injuries? I’m in that camp ie poorly managed.

But that's already obvious that he was poorly managed since he was a teenager. It was inevitable he would get injured. Especially with the refs not protecting him from thuggish tackles.

If the absolutely diabolical finishing turns into goals a month down the road then it's good. He's not Salah and judging by him struggling to chase down balls against full backs clearly shows he will never be open space guy. He's still the best we got up top. Atleast he's no longer smirking after clear cut misses anymore. Someone (Arteta) has clearly told him if your healthy you should be at 20 goals a year player and it shows cuz he looking for goal.

It's hard to simulate pressure of half second opportunities in training and we should be happy he's in those areas and looking to score.

The new online narrative seems to be to go after Saka. Seen Lee Gunner, Kenny Ken and his sphere begin it a few weeks or so ago, but now Loose cannons and a few of the AFTV guys have started. Think it will grow as a narrative unless he hits a purple patch.

@Trilly hoping its Madueke but it seems they have set their sights on the top guy.

This is nothing new, it's like the 4th year Saka is losing steps and far from world class yet he keeps having periods where he delivers every game.

He'll eventually get injured and people will get their wish of seeing him slower and not scoring for a bit, or seeing more gametime for Madueke

Was the title worth Mikel ruining Saka completely?

He’s honestly dreadful now and has been for two seasons.
It's seriously concerning. Aside from losing physical attributes, his decision making has been poor for ages as well. It's a real issue if he's expected to be our best attacker and makes the decision not to sign another forward in the summer even worse.

First half everything going through him as usual, second half showed him how alone he is that he was spamming corners pretty much on purpose.

Will never have the explosiveness people are begging him for, basically because he has never had it.

3 goals in 5 league games. Looks good on the surface. But when you watch him you can see he’s done as a winger. Sadly when a good player is done at the highest level they don’t just stop completely. He will get a goal here and assist there and probably keep respectable numbers up. But his impact on games will be moments once in a while

Arsenal Quotes

In 1997/98 we became English champions as I had set myself three missions to carry out which I felt were essential. One: to have an impact on the result and the team's playing style. Two: to foster the player's individual development. Three: to strengthen the structure of the club and enhance its global influence.
