I dunno I think Saka is a RW. I'm not saying he couldn't play in other positions but when you look at his game it's not dependent on great physical attributes or pace.

I don't think you change something that's not broken.

Maybe you move him infield in his 30's.... Hopefully he's still here by then anyway.
The very best players (especially those whose game isn’t pace dependant) tend to get moved inside so they can have more influence on the game.

If Saka was a strong shooter or a wide forward type I’d keep him on the right but his best attributes are his ability to link up, progress the ball and cross. On paper he’d be better in a central attacking role where he can drift to either side of the pitch depending on the situation, especially for his crossing. There’s a reason why KDB and Trent tend to pull out to the right to cross. Those out swingers are much easier to attack. How often have we seen our players fluff a lovely inswinging cross from Saka?

Anyway the point isn’t that he needs to play there now, it’s more an address to the weirdos who have decided to take it as some sort of insult.

I remember when Di Maria moved from winger to a LCM role and went up another level and won a CL.

But suggest it with an Arsenal player with a similar skillset and it’s somehow agenda driven. Bunch of perverts on here
Schweinsteiger as well.

Are we really going to act like Arsenal fans weren’t outraged when Arteta moved Saka out to the RW for the first time against Leicester during Project Restart? People didn’t think he could play there.

lol after a win guys come on here and act like they scored all the goals for some reason.

Arteta fans gloating that we are in the title race would make more sense, but nobody said Saka couldn't do damage to West Ham at all so the sass I don't get it.

Add Bale, Neymar, Alexis, Mbappe, Iniesta, CR7 and Messi to that list too.

If anything it’s a compliment ffs.

Was pretty clear by the time he was 20 he could basically play anywhere but CB. Would love to see him tactically move around to where ever he could do the most damage. Not got anyone to play RW still though
I think we'll start to see a bit of that when we finally make that star wide forward signing.

I've always thought Saka would make a killer 8. We actually tried him there a couple of times in 2020.

Vieira was before Henry and I think Saka has surpassed Fabregas.

Based on what? Don't get me wrong I'd gladly put Fab in the rear view mirror as people talk about him like a legend but I wonder what you base this off.

Nah, I don’t like Cesc but he scored the winner for us at the San Siro, was pivotal in the run in 06 and had multiple world class seasons.

Once Saka does the business in the CL he goes clear of him.

Y'all need to chill with the pervert talk lol. But I agree, he can def be dangerous playing LCM. He has all the attributes, don't see how they can contain him breezing through the middle, would draw way more fouls too.

Saka is pretty dependent on his physicality. That's how he is able to hold off defenders so well. He simply isn't blistering with his pace, but he has everything apart from size and leaping ability.

I'm choosing to focus more on CL now, I just have a feeling Arteta would choke again with the league like last season. I remember even before last the team choked top 4 to Tottenham. If the team finishes in top 3 and wins CL that would be a great season.

Bit of a high bar no? I prefer our chances in CL than the league though.

Trossard literally robbed Saka of a peach of an assist just in this game 😆
