Based on Adam Cleary's analysis in the video I posted yesterday, essentially Real's gamble of having Bellingham double up on Saka along with the Real LB preventing him from really taking on the Real FB on the outside backfired as it invited Saka to go inside and infield more which won both of the free kicks. It's not something as tangible as goals and assists, but they were petrified of Saka and when he did go inside it caused utter chaos. Bellingham and Camavinga, the usual ones trying to stop him hadn't a clue how to deal with him.

Saka just being Saka was such an important factor which probably gets overlooked by a lot with focus just being on two incredible strikes by Rice. I mean obviously that is the most important factor, Rice and Rice alone produced two absolutely unbelievable free kicks.

If we had a proper CF, LW and a bit more creativity from midfield all of a sudden Saka is a Ballon d'Or contender I have no doubt about it. It's extraordinary he's doing as much as he's doing given our limitations offensively (relatively speaking in terms of being an elite European force).

Has to get a shot away at least, can’t believe he pissed about here

Not having watched the game, this actually doesn't show the entire passage where Saka does well to nick it off of Flekken but for some inexplicable reason takes all these extra touches. Really weird, that really should have been buried by Bukayo, I'll never know what he was thinking there

I think two defenders were already heading towards their goal so that'll require a lot of precision to shoot past them hence why the extra touches. However, shooting immediately after he nicked the ball from the keeper would require a lot of bend/twist of the torso. That would be quite risky especially for him just returning from a hammy. Pre-injury Saka would do it, but this version, just not yet, not when he's got Real Madrid and CL SF obviously playing in his mind.

I think he's saving the goal for Bernabeu

I think he was worried of someone sliding in form behind him and possibly injuring him, so didn't want to risk the shot until he was sure he wouldn't get smashed.

At the end of the day the Prem is done for us, no point risking anything in that with Europe coming up for us.
