Well then you're stupid. It was 1-0 ffs. Make the game safe, go for the higher % opportunity. That's what great players do

It’s more a reflection of how the senior players see Gyokeres, remember Saka not letting him take the pen either v West Ham

Saka weak rebound from Cala's shot and his reluctance to square it to Gyokeres a bit worrying,

it seems he has a lot on his mind

He doesn’t respect Gyokeres. Anyone think he wouldn’t square to Kane. Gyokeres has to earn the respect of the players
There’s earning respect and there’s making the right decision to secure 3 points. If it was early in the game or already 2-0 up then it’s a different story.

Also Kane is one of the greatest goalscorers to ever live we don’t need to be making that comparison.

Lots of talk about him not passing to Viktor abd its a fair point. I remember Henry saying that the ball must always go to the player in the best position but recently, we've passed and failed to score when a shot was on before. We will hopefully improve in the final third but ngl, the fact his shot went in after GK got both hands to it just made it sweeter. COYG

Merino also missed a rebound shot. It's annoying but we haven't had a proper striker since 2021 so it will take some time to get used to playing with one. And yes, Saka will also improve his decision making.

Merino one was understandable given the angle of his leg when receiving the ball. The saka one was a completely different story, on his good leg too.

Fair point. Saka seemed to be falling backwards when he shot. I was screaming when it happened but it all worked out for us and the manner in which he actually scored just adds to his aura. He feels "inevitable"

Many slating Saka pre-match that he needs to up his game, be hungry and score more goals. So he done that and everyone is still pissed.

WTF you are all on about. Saka is the best decision maker in this team and primary creator. I wouldn't square it to Bumdegaard as well.
Only worry for me is I see a pattern of him missing absolute sitters. Cala shot should have been a 100% goal and he hit it like he never played football.

Well at least him and Gyokeres are in good positions and we saw that against Burnley too.

Think they can be a good duo if Saka actually starts passing a bit more, no wonder he had open play 1 assist since nov 2024.

Generally I think he didn't get to the top level we expected him to come, but don't get me wrong he is our nailed starter here.

Don't think Noni can challenge him, but time will tell.

I like that he gets more chances whenever Gyokeres is on the pitch and that will show if he is going to become a superstar or just stay a good player.

Saka, love him to death, but he's a system player. You see the difference with him and Eze.

If Eze stayed at arsenal all his flair and intuition would be coached out of him.

Saka not squaring the pass is a reflection and indicative of his lack of intuition and being present in the moment. If he was developed under Wenger he squares it instantly.

Think a lot of people have this view that being the main man or the big dog on the team means being selfish or that you’re allowed to be greedy.

Saka is one of our captains, I’m all for forwards being hungry for goals but good leadership is also putting the teams needs above your own whether that’s choosing the safe option to secure the victory or trying to feed your striker to give him confidence.

And his decision making isn’t being called in question, we all know his football IQ is elite. That’s what makes the greediness more concerning imo, it’s a conscious decision.

That depends on the output he's delivering I feel. If he's gonna start scoring almost every game by adopting the "selfish" go for every chance mentality I'm all supportive of it especially since he's the vice captain. He was criticized by plenty before the match for not stepping up on his end product

Is this the attitude maybe Saka feels he need to take on to up himself till the marquee level?

I love Saka, but he needs to step up and make a game like tomorrow his own.

We need to see performances like the ones against Real Madrid a bit more often from him now.

If you want to be payed the top money you have to make the difference tomorrow.

I guess it's about knowing your strengths and weaknesses too. The best players know this and adjust their game accordingly. Saka needs to dial it back slightly.

If you're an excellent finisher then being greedy may actually be what's best for the team, if you're an excellent facilitator that can't really finish then being un-selfish in front of goal is what's best for the team. Assists are end product too.

I feel like Saka recerntly has been moving like he's an elite finisher when really his strengths lean more towards assisting. Being greedy when you aren't an elite finisher is just going to harm your team more often than not. We almost saw the clearest example of that so far this season if not for some poor goalkeeping.
