Yousif Arsenal

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆

Hopefully can get back earlier so he'll likely miss two league games plus fa cup?

Well likely Noni And Martinelli need to manage the minutes we'll be fine if two weeks out

If we beat Chelsea tonight, we’ll play Wolves on February 18 as well

But it is. Saka has become a greedy so and so. Often (this season) I see him looking up and totally ignoring better options and then opting for a terrible shot.

It just isn't lol 😆

The amount of times Saka has cut back the ball into the box only for no one to be there, I've lost count. This is a bs narrative that's being peddled.

I don't think Saka has become greedy, it's more we notice it now because nothing is coming off for him. He has always favoured cutting back inside and trying to curl one in, or going down the outside and trying to score at the near post. When they go in nobody cares, when they're not people are looking to see who was open in the box.
I think he’s become more greedy imo. I noticed it pretty early on in the season before most jumped on the bandwagon.

I was making jokes about it being because he’s in contract negotiations/no longer on pens. In my opinion this is the first seasons where I’ve seen him consistently choose to shoot in positions where I’m sure he’d have looked for a pass before.

He definitely has became more greedy. But I would like to think he just wants to take more responsibility on himself, to score first and foremost for the team, then create.

If we are talking about the amount of times Saka cut the ball back to no one, that only means he has bad decision making or lack of understanding with his teammates and vice versa. If you realised, he is so predictable defenders just let him go past and cut back because they are all well prepared to pack the box and defend the cut back angles most of the time for a corner.

I have looked up at his per 90 stats, even ignoring the huge drop off in G/A, his dribbles and sprint intensity has fallen off a cliff.

I think he's lost pace compared to prior seasons and that's what gives the impression of selfishness

Less pace = harder to create separation from defender = hold onto the ball longer as you search for a way to cross, shoot, etc

He still beats his defender consistently but, like Leo, it requires guile and skill which takes time with the ball

I still want to try him in Odegaards position

We'll have to agree to disagree. Saka is renown for his decision making and letting the game come to him. He's forcing it and he doesn't have that type of explosiveness to pull that off. His general hasn't been up to standard at all and we have not been missing him lately. There's a reason for that. Not everything is an agenda based narrative.

Is there a problem with that though? We can't say Saka is earning the big bucks and should be hitting the the scoreboard more and then in the same breath criticize for being 'greedy'.

I don't think he lost pace. I think he isn't trusting his body like before the big injury.
Also there is a world cup in the summer. I am sure most of the players think about it unconsciously and spare a sprint here and there.
God willing Saka stays healthy , I am sure we will see the best of him soon when the crunch time comes.

He let the comparisons with Salah go to his head and he got played into the ground. Havent seen him go flat out this season and use pace and physicality to win the ball. So definitely he isnt the Saka of old just yet.

I don’t have a problem with him taking on more responsibility and backing himself.

There have been a few occasions where I’ve thought him shooting wasn’t the best outcome for the team though but I think it’s exaggerated amongst the fanbase.

being greedy is okay, when there's result behind the decision.

7/7 is good, but still not enough to be the star player. Trossard has 7/8 & Martinelli has 10/3, Saka needs to overtake them

You need to go to Specsavers. Saka hasn't had any issues with his pace or physicality. It's his uncharacteristically poor decision making.

I've got no worries about Saka personally. He's carried us for years, if he's having a poor season by his standards then it happens and we'll see more from him in the future for sure. Just hope his injury and form doesn't cost us this golden chance

A player's true character is in how he plays and not in his social life. You can hide your real personality in your social life, You cannot on the field.
