Thinks he's better than Havertz.

Think most of us has seen more Saka than Pires at this point no? Certainly the case for me personally.

What I just can't fathom is why our club legends are such knobs about our own players and then you have people like Neville so desperate to defend Mancs that he's calling 27 year old Rashford an up and coming kid. Actually to be fair, our truly great club legends like Thierry, Patrick and Dennis I've never heard speak nonsense about our players. It's the fringe ones who need attention.

Except Pires and Petit can hardly be described as fringe players. As a collective, we've always been foolishly honest.

Not fringe players, fringe club legends. I'm talking about guys who were part of legendary teams but are not the absolute best of the best like the 3 I mentioned who don't have the same penchant for just taking weird shots at our players seemingly for attention the wouldn't garner otherwise.

Imagine trying to imply Robert Pires isn't a truly great Arsenal legend, lol.

This place is insane sometimes 😅

Nobody is safe.

The dimissiveness of Wenger's FA Cups to prop up Arteta.
The Gilberto and Patty V slander to prop up Rice.

Thank goodness Arteta didn't get a striker and Kai's not English. Otherwise, Henry would be just a 'tap in merchant around these parts.

I'm old, too. So I had to look it up, just to be sure. Pires had 189 appearances for Arsenal; Saka is currently on 173. Even us old b*astards will have seen more of Saka than Pires by Christmas.

Edit: that was only PL appearances. Total appearances will even out sometime next season.

I think @Macho was referring to the fact that more games are televised nowadays and we have streams etc. We have definitely “seen” more of Saka playing than Bobby.

No worries, I could have written it better so it was clear what I meant.

It was funny as this was Pires...

Oh, that's true, too. Thanks to EPL's farsighted selling of international broadcasting rights, I have missed watching 2 Arsenal games since Saka's debut, and both of those were because I was inconveniently on a plane. It was just that it hit me that we still think of Saka as young, but even those lucky enough to get to turn up at the stadium will have seen more of Saka than Pires by the end of the year.

That’s because he is young. Only just 23.

Mad when you really think about it… still has an entire career ahead of him, despite all the mileage already.

Only about a third of Pires club appearances were for Arsenal though

Not true Henry said we couldn't win the title with Giroud while we were in the title race. Probably far worse than Pires comments, also factoring in.Bobby can be a bit away with the fairies at times.

What Henry said was factually accurate. Giroud is a donkey whose profile has grown among Arsenal supporters after he left because people have forgotten how many sitters he used to miss and how poor his work rate could be. Saka is objectively better and more consistent at the game of football than Jeremy Doku is. What Pires said is stupid and wrong.
