Can’t understand the mindset of those who write off our chances of progressing in a knock out competition. We’ve got a hell of defense and a master of haramball at the helm. RM haven’t been great in the CL this season we are obviously underdogs but we have a fair chance with our players back. It’s a CL QF against the biggest team in the world if you can’t get it up for this then why bother following the team?

And that's not worth risking him reinjuring himself by being rushed back.

Well I'm old enough to remember when the medical team decided that Timber could continue playing after he went down under no contact clutching his knee and then his season was over a few minutes later when he came back on the pitch and went right back down with a torn ACL.

All people are concerned about is that our best player is eased back in after a long period out, in part because he was clearly rushed back from an injury to this same area of the body, overplayed and then lost for over 3 months. I care a lot more about the next 6 years of Saka's career than the next 6 weeks.
An ACL is something you take a look at with the naked eye and easily detect.

Timber was fine to continue.

I don’t really understand this talk of rushing him back.

He’s been out since November. That’s makes it 4 months since his injury.

That’s enough time

We usually perform much better when we are "underdog", while it favors Madrid but I would definitely not rule us out as "No Way".

While on the front foot they are unstoppable but there's plenty of weakness in Madrid team to exploit. We can just be the West Ham to them like what West Ham did to us.
Jesus and Havertz won't make any difference to whether we get past Madrid or not. They're just so better than us that a couple of average players and Saka won't make much difference.

If those guys were fit, Arteta will just set the team to defend and we'll still get battered anyway.

I guess you will not watch the matches against Real Madrid.
What's the point, we would get battered anyway.

I’m not sure he ends up the player he was before in terms of his robustness. Hamstrings are the worst reoccurring injury.

You probably have agenda against Arteta Which is making you push the we are terrible narrative, we may not be the best team in the world but we are far from terrible.

We are second in premier league and only lost one game in the champions till date.

Madrid for all their stars in attack are not really not fluid, they are still yet figure out how to balance all that attacking talent and their defense is kinda leaky.

I not am saying we are winning and loosing, what I am saying is that we are gonna compete and compete well and in the end, there won’t be much between the winners.

I don't understand this panic about Saka. Arsenal has a medical team and they will say if Saka is ready or not.
If they say that he is ready, why he shouldn't play?

If anything the medical team has been very careful in reintegrating players in the past 2 seasons. Players won't come back in until they're fully ready. Good chance Saka was ready for the Chelsea game but they didn't risk it

Real Madrid aren't as good as you seem to think they are. They struggle to create against teams that defend well and get by through sheer talent most of the time. They'll be favored against us but they aren't this unbeatable juggernaut.

Arsenal is clearly underdog but if our players give their best, we definitely have chance.
I really don't understand defeatist attitude of many posters in AM, seems that some of them would really like that Real Madrid batters Arsenal.

The idea that we get battered by default against Real is ludicrous. When did we last get battered against any team under Arteta? It’s not like we’re facing prime Barca either.

Having Saka back is huge, obviously.
I get that we don't play inspiring football and have issues scoring, but staying in the game and giving ourselves a chance in big matches is the one thing you can't really criticise this team for. We're unbeaten against the Big 6 in how many games now? We also beat PSG earlier in the season.

So much better than us yet needed the ref to help them through in the last round? Lol we’re not one of Wenger’s teams who regularly did get battered at this stage.

You only hear this stuff from the usual suspects who use every opportunity to beat Arteta with a stick. Drivel about us being so woeful and deserving nothing but the worst is a consistent theme across many threads now, just from the same few posters.

Yes as evidenced by him immediately missing the next 9 months after going down with no contact a second time about 10 seconds after he was sent out for the 2nd half. He was "fine to continue". Really intelligent and worthwhile post. The Challenger space shuttle was safe to fly too.

No way we get past Madrid. An average Bayern side made light work of us last season. If I was a betting man, I wouldn't even put money on us getting past inter or atleti, never mind Madrid. Beating PSG has got you guys gassed.
Last season was the first time the majority of these guys have ever played in the UCL. Totally different football from the league and Europa. Also Jesus usually does very well in the UCL and Havertz scored the winning goal in the UCL final. Madrid are going to be attacking and not defending for their lives like the majority of teams playing Arsenal. If all those guys were healthy and in form, I'm taking Arsenal. The team has a great defense.
