Its been over for a year or so, its just the slow kids catching up to the rest of us at this point.
Nah you gotta do it at this level even if you know the ability is there. He’s been playing at a WC level for a while now but doing it in consecutive seasons and at the big stage is what separated the world class players from guys like Foden or Palmer who have had a world class season.

Saka is undeniably that guy now, just needs more attackers on his level now.

For me WC is more based on doing it consistently week in week out.

I've considered Saka and Rice to be WC for quite some time. The Real performances were really nice but it's not really changed how I feel about them as talents at all ( beyond learning Rice can take a mean free kick)

Doing it against Real is more to show non Arsenal fans your class I think. We see it week in week out.

...and then He woke up sweating !!!
Overrated player.. when he was leading Madrids midfield they got knocked out by Lyon in the Round of 16 two years in a row 😂

Yep, was a bit part player in the worst Madrid side of the millennium, then got cast out to Sp**s where he developed into a streets won’t forget player.

These Dutch guys seem to make it their personality to slate the English players, despite these current crop of England players being actually good.

Scoring against Real Madrid away at the Bernabeu in a CL knockout tie. The debate has been unofficially dead for a good while now but I think we can declare the "Is he world class?" debate officially dead now in favor of "yes".
It was never in debate in my mind. You don't want to crown teenagers/youth as WC but this man has been on it from day one. A few under par displays didn't change my mind. Ashley Cole was the best our academy produced. Saka has matched him in terms of performance. Hopefully the biggest trophy arrives here next month to give him the confirmation he deserves.

He's fine. He got raked down the heel. Poor challenge. They hurt.

He'll be a bit sore for a couple of days but it's not an injury.

If we were playing PSG on Wednesday he'd be fine to play.

He fine but he getting ridiculous the way he getting kicked guy just returned ffs
That's what happens when you're good on the ball and physically strong. Hazard suffered the same fate, one of the reasons his body gave up on him in his early 30s. That's the reason why Cristiano started diving a lot and other good dribblers like Neymar and Iniesta were always rolling on the pitch lol. You gotta protect those ankles and knees.

Saka won't dive because the media will find this excuse to abuse him.

Most games for a top team are considered to be an against lesser sides and that makes up like 90% of the games a team will play in a season.

Would you call someone world class if they were consistently good in that 90% of games but failed to show up at the highest stage against the best players in the world?

Your criteria is way too lenient.

I mean, yeah. To me WC is playing to a replicable high standard virtually week in week out.

Let's not forget that not showing up in big games thing or being a bottler was used against Henry for quite some time and I thought it was a nonsense then.

For me WC is being 8 / 10 pretty much all the time. Now if the player dropped to a 5 / 10 or something consistently against top, top opposition then I'd question them, but that rarely happens.
