Its interesting the huge new contract was an easy decision a year ago but the decision is becoming far more risky given his last 12 months.

They will definitely give it to him and I think the odds are still slightly in Arsenal's favour of it being the right decision, but the margins are increasingly tightening.

@samspade: Or me, panicking about Saka’s performance is silly. The worry is about injuries developing in to persistent problems, that’s what’s disrupted his rhythm form wise and will eat away at his career if we aren’t careful.

This is exactly one of the main reasons why its an issue, why is it silly to consider?

I knew he hasn't been scoring but the lack of assists surprised me also.
Why what’s an issue? The size of the contract renewal? Ofc injury concerns are a concern regarding contract renewals but I was talking about his ability to find consistency at the highest level.

To me, if we manage his work load properly then there will be no issue with him finding regular performances again is my point. Like ode, even when he has a poor game the team is better with him there as he knows where to be, how to make an impact, commits with ambition to his actions. and shies away from nothing.

@Trilly will tell you I’m Saka’s lawyer btw

Saka's recent slump in form is concerning (although I have confidence it just a matter of time before he is back to his usual self(.

I'd drop Saka for Saturday for Nwaneri, give Saka some time to regain to full fitness.

With all our attackers out you would drop Saka for a very tough away game?

Not in form, looking leggy, not as quick or as fit since returning from injury. Give Saka some rest and let ease back into minutes and form.

Nwaneri or even Downman can fill in at RW in meantime.

His touch is still excellent, and the executions have mostly been good, but his lack of strength is worrisome. He can't hold off his defenders or burst past them. Madueke needs to give Starboy a much needed rest. He had his performance of the season against Fulham and then he got sick and hasn't looked the same since.

Will get some rest when Madueke is back. People forget he skinned Hancko when the so called best defensive team came to the Emirates a few weeks ago. And now they want to leave him on the bench for a not in form Nwaneri or a 15 year old kid

Saka has the second highest goals per games ratio of any English player in the history of the CL (0.57) 🤯 12 goals in 21 games

Harry Kane is first with 0.75 (and he's a striker)

mannnnn this is surprise me, i just check palmer & saka stats in 24/25

- saka total minute play 2619' from premier league + carabao + champions league = 26 g/a

- palmer total minute play 3691' from premier league + fa cup + conference league qualifiers + conference league = only 27 g/a

football fans should never compare palmer with saka because even when saka had less minute play than palmer but saka still can produce g/a close with palmer g/a & especially palmer play at easy competition like conference league last season,

saka always better than palmer in every season since palmer joined chelshit

Loved his performance 2nd half he played like captain always made himself available and kept trying even after few poor misses.

We need Saka to be at his best every game not only will help us to score more but will give players around him more confidence

I know many were annoyed with his performance but he is effective even when sub par. He's clearly not confident in his body. I wish Noni was fit so he could be rested but to anyone who thinks Noni is better, my view is that Noni is easy on the eye but has zero G/A iirc despite the eye test. Let's not be too hasty to write off the one player who has carried the team for so long
