This has been Chambers' story at Arsenal: have a few good performances in meaningless games toward the end of the season, and he earns his spot into the team.
He's one of the oldest arsenal player in the squad, got through 3 different managers, how many times did he play more than 15 games as a CB during a season?
He wasn't even good enough to be a starting CB for Fulham.

Once we as fans and club raise our standards all will work out fine. Players like Chambers, Holding, Bellerin, Kolasinac,Mari, Cedric, Leno,Xhaka, Laca, Elneny should all be sold or released. I'm sick of players who are not physical enough, don't have any footballing brain, cannot pass a simple ball and areal/ positional awareness is like they play blindfolded.

We had the offer but we rejected it as we were looking for 20m. Sounds eerily similar to how we've managed some of our players this summer.

This is what can happen when you buy potential. Some players really push on while others dont. He has been unlucky with injuries tbf.
I dont think he is a bad player, should be ok as a back up but has looked way off the level so far this season. He is a decent footballer but not sure his defending is at the required standard.

Chambers also cost 20 million euros while Shaw 37 million euros in the same window. Shaw also wasn't very good until last season.

Fair point i thought 20m was a big fee back then but as you say Man U paid considerably more for Shaw.
Lets hope the new boy just signed can step up.
Chambers is one of those players who are simply playing beyond their level. At fulham in a average team he was great because thats his level. Same with xhaka, with the swiss team which is pretty average he does well because thats his level. Its not that chambers is rubbish its that he just isnt good enough.
