Can Arsenal Become the Biggest Team In the World?

1,500,000 million at the victory parade. That is close to double the biggest football event ever in UK, Liverpool's trophy parade. By comparison to us they were practically walking alone.

This less than 24 hours after the huge disappointment of losing the Champions League final to Daniel Siebert.

Discuss.

I like the way you think . I am sure that's the aim of the owners . Our marketing department has really picked it up by quite a few notches we have become more than a football Club in some ways. If we keep winning we could be on a par with United ?

No.

We are not even the biggest club in England. You can debate about London if one club has already 2 CLs.

Seeing Josh at the parade and his reactions, if he’s fully invested, I think we can.

Mikel has undoubtedly been heavily supported until now and it’s earned the club a Premier League title and record revenue.

If they really are ready to back him to bring us to the next level and aren’t just talking a good game - I don’t see why not.

We’re the best positioned Premier League team to dominate the coming seasons. Undoubtedly the ‘culture club’ of the moment. Our revenue can catch up with the monsters of European football with a few more successful seasons.

Need to get the next few transfer windows perfect to really capitalise on our good position to make it happen.

I mean, there’s another London club with two European Cups, never mind Utd and Liverpool and European super giants like Real, Bayern, Barcelona. Even PSG have two in a row and have elevated their status.

3rd in England for most league titles. So even behind there.

We have a massive fan base, based in London, a certain buzz/hype/culture around us no matter our form. That’s what we’ve got going for us.

We're biggest club in London, you can't just count Europe and saying that Chelsea is bigger, we had more history than them and even since Abramovic era we had some better seasons than them, similiar like Juve and Milan, Juve is bigger club and had less success in Europe.

The way I understand @Tom Mix post is that we barely been a side-note in the league for last 20 years and yet we doubled Liverpool last year parade. There is no amount of trophies, status or world class players who get you what we already have. Its my understanding this is also not just London but worlwide.

If PL and even CL have any wits about them they protect us like NBA protected M. Jordan. Money for everybody. We are massive and loud fanbase with every other fanbases united against us. Its a geeat product.

Dont really care about Real or Barca and the comparisions. But I could get used to win the league more often. Its nice.

Realistically no, not in our lifetimes. Madrid are the biggest club in the world and Barcelona having Messi and most of Spain's golden generation for over a decade didn't change the fact that Madrid are the biggest club in the world. We absolutely can elevate our status. We are very clearly the biggest club in London and I don't think we're that far off of Liverpool. Catching United is also possible eventually if they continue to be a meme club and we go on a run but we're not catching Madrid or Barcelona.

i think win treble back to back (premier league or premier league invincibles unbeaten + fa cup + ucl) is quick route to put us in conversation we are biggest club in the world (atleast top 2 behind madrid) because no club did that in football history

Nothing is going to undo Madrid's history. They've been football's flagship club for decades. We're never going to be bigger than what they've done the last 100 years but in such a scenario that we won back to back trebles, then obviously it would raise our own status and put us in the conversation of the best club on earth.

You don't catch up to their history though. They could make XIs of players in their history that even Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira would struggle to get into and nothing in the near term is going to take us beyond that, let alone their trophy haul.

We're the third biggest club in the country, behind Liverpool and sleeping giant Utd. We're behind Real and Barca. Juve, Inter and Milan are historically important clubs but they're behind us - sadly. Boring old domestic-monopoly Bayern are bigger. In another sense, the despicable petrostate sportswashing government-subverting vacuous and criminal simulacrum of a football club 'Paris' 'Saint' 'Germain' is bigger. The despicable petrostate sportswashing government-subverting vacuous and soon-to-be-proven criminal simulacrum of a football club 'Manchester' 'City' may have just run out of rope, but they are there, like the Alps. That's it: we are, or should be, eighth, and we're clinging on there.

What to do? If I were Josh, I would bring on board someone specifically tasked with finding ways to move up that ladder. How? What do we have? Well, 'everybody' hates us... I would leverage the completely unprecedented and digitally-led assault on Arsenal to lean into a rebranding as the 'Outsiders'; the global alternative club; the authentic football club. They're posting images from the parade as evidence of 'cultural enrichment' - and enjoy your eternity in hell, guys - but we can use that.

In this context, a pre-season tour not of the US or Asia, but (a world first) of Africa would pay off far beyond the short-term financial loss you might incur. Imagine if Liverpool did that before us - we'd be green with envy. Do it. It sounds cynical, but we can be the club of the global South. A small extra investment in the women's team would pay dividends beyond the outlay - it should not be lost that we essentially INVENTED women's football, and our rivals are eroding that advantage with money. Double down on our heritage of 'class' - every time the social media of 'Chelsea Football Club' (another criminal enterprise, long story) mock us, take extra care not to descend to their, and other clubs', level of bantz. Become famous, as that becomes the norm, for NEVER doing that. Arsène once made an issue of making sure that the flowers in the executive areas weren't just any flowers, but the colours of the visiting team - pure class. In a marketplace which sees 12 yr old Chinese girls shopping in club outlets on 5th Avenue and the Champs Elysees, directed by love for the latest Ballon d'Or contender, we have to find a way past that, have to find a way of identifying Arsenal as the world's 'left' superclub. The club 'they' hate. (Get Mamdani, a genuine Gooner, involved - he'd do it.) Of the seven clubs above us we are uniquely positioned - not Real, not Barca, not Utd, not City, not Bayern, a little bit Liverpool but not quite, to an extent (except they're oil-based plastic) PSG - to be a diverse, authentic, inclusive brand, and we should lean into that.

Personally, I would send some Serbians round to Robbie Lyle's (and Piers Morgan's) and politely ask them to consider shutting up. That'd help. But it must never get back to me. I never gave the order. Seriously, if I were involved with the club, I'd have a word with them over lunch. Like Arteta breaking bread with Gary Neville - smart.

In short, we have a branding opportunity our rivals don't. See any images of the parade. Look at us! The more they say 'Arsenal are intolerable', the more we can exploit it. We're not them: that's the point of our football club. Meanwhile, buy Kroupi; he's it.
