The 4-2 Arsenal win at Ipswich was the quarter final of the FA Cup we went on to beat Sheff Wednesday in a replay in the final.

We also faced and beat Sheff Wednesday in the league Cup final the same season 1993 winning 2-1, which was indeed the last time we won it.

Some of you have memory of a gold fish. Look at those EFL Cup fixtures last season:



We could have used a bit of rest instead of those meaningless "friendlies" aka EFL semifinals against Chelsea and finals against 115. Remember that 2-2 away game against Wolves, who were absolute dross of the league ? Yep, that game was moved from 22. March to a midweek game on 18. February because we qualified for the final of EFL cup. That Wolves game almost cost us the Premier League.
None of the top teams around Europe play in 2 domestic cup tournaments.
Get a grip FA and some of you losers on AM.
Top 6 teams in Premier League shouldn't play in this tournament. Let Totspur and chavs have a battle royal with the rest of the league and top clubs from the championship.

We can think about that in Feb if we reach there, for now we need gametime for players like Zubi,Hincapie,Gyok,Eze and Madueke. These guys are too good to play only 10-15 mins a week, we need to
keep rotating them to be best in form when needed.

MLS and Bruno have played only 45 mins over weekend, so they will be involved. Only issue is right back which will be mostly filled in by Marli if Mosquera is not fit.

It’s a real trophy and Tottenham have won it more recently than us. I want to win it.

If you want the squaddies / kids to get good minutes this season you want to be going deep in both domestic cups.

Even with a nearly totally rotated side we should beat Ipswich who will rotate pretty heavily themselves.

Also losing the final last season annoyed me. I'd like that rectified this time even if the trophy itself isn't worth much.

And also this. We have the deepest squad in the world and need to get minutes for guys.

this cup shouldn't exist there FA cup and that's enough and as you mentioned clubs that play in europe shouldn't play in it. before was fine playing this competition but after the increase of european club competitions games friendly games and most importantly nation league competition there no need to play extra 5 games to try win EFL cup that gonna bring you 1M prize and qualifaction to Conference league.

Wholesale changes please, although this cup is a nice taster, I honestly care very little whether we go out tonight because having to play a double header against a PL team (most likely vs a big6 team) in February isn't very appealing if we want to win the league and CL. We know PSG players will have only played 1000 minutes by then, so we don't need to be unnecessarily tiring out our best players going into the run in.

i think Mosquera will be fit for this one so will be interesting what mikel going to do also won't be surprised Timber start here he do need more match sharpness.

I care about this competition. Not as much as the other competitions but i refuse to dismiss it.

I would love to see Dowman in the starting 11 but expect Madueke unfortunately.

Thought we'd get rid of Kepa after we brought in Meslier but there's clearly some kind of good relationship between him and Arteta that he's still at the club as 2nd choice when he could go and be a 1st choice in another top 5 league lower club. Unfortunately as you say, we'll have to put up with him in the cups again this year.

Salmon is a CB but he's mostly only played as a RB for us in official games thus far.

It’s pointless seeing this competition for the top teams and it disregards the FA cup as well, we don’t need two domestic trophies.

Now we’ve increased European competitions as well the smaller teams would rather focus on that than this.

It’s mental the likes of Ipswich are going to rotate for this.
