Last EL game loads of posters asking for a team of youngsters. But Wenger stuck with a more experienced side and won 6-0 and there was a noticeable drop when more youngsters came on later.

A noticeable drop in tempo happens quite often with us. First XI or youth.

Indeed. Haven't watched us much lately but yeah, very odd. Kola may have dropped off a bit but he's been very solid no? And very productive for a wing back.

Think us switching back to a back four might have something to do with it but not sure. AMN being comfortable with using both feet for crossing has helped him.

AMN is much better than Kola.

He's obviously done something to impress the boss, that's for sure. He was very good against Newcastle. Kola's looked a little sluggish on the defensive side recently but he does provide better attacking ability on the LHS imo. Has Kola been deployed as a LB in a back 4 this season or has he just played LWB?

AMN also has great recovery pace - very quick over the first 5 meters or so.

Seems like he's part of a 3 man midfield, but he's originally a #10 anyway. He's been excellent for the U23s in recent weeks, defending and attacking with fervor and beginning to dominate games along with DaSilva - who I would have preferred to get a start ahead of Coquelin or Elneny. Willock and DaSilva both deserve starts IMO. I expected Nelson to (unfortunately) be benched for Walcott/Welbeck so I'm not too mad about that, as much as I would prefer him to get the minutes.

I'd definitely rather see AMN as RB with Kolasinac as LB in the league from now on. Weird that Kolasinac has been benched instead of Bellerin, I feel.

This is pretty interesting. Clearly gives Willock a lot more freedom than he has had in either a mid 2 or at the base of a two. And with Coq and Elneny playing, it may mean we are going to start to play with wide fb instruction
