Always thought that Arsenal will get max. 1 million fee because of his wages. I assume Fulham want him to take a paycut rather than give more money. He complain about lack of game time then he refuse to go to club where he could possibly start because he want to get paid close 100k.
I know these players game it's getting old.
The Carl Jenkinson of our times, living the good life, touching the stars.
Carl also scored a goal that Cedric could only dream of - it was an own goal but it was magnificent. For all his usefulness as a traffic light in a cul de sac, Carl was at least a Gooner if nothing else.
At 46 seconds...Carl also scored a goal that Cedric could only dream of - it was an own goal but it was magnificent.
Think this will happen, KT going in summer i reckonI wonder if they bring that Fresneda kid this window, or plan to have Walters as emergency backup.
Bringing Fresneda now would help him to understand the inverted RB role and train it for 6 months, for next season too. But on the other hand he would benefit from starting at Valladolid.
Fulham are in talks with Arsenal over a possible deal for Cedric.
Marco Silva worked with Cedric at Sporting Lisbon in 2014-15, and Fulham feel the Portuguese full-back would add experience and quality.
A loan or permanent transfer are both on the table, although the former may require a workaround as Fulham have filled their quota for loans from other top flight clubs this season. Dan James and Shane Duffy are currently on loan at the club from Leeds and Brighton respectively.
As it stands, a deal is not yet thought to be close. Cedric’s salary has previously been seen as a stumbling block to an agreement for Fulham and the parties remain apart on finances.
Mikel Arteta is yet to be convinced to let the defender leave to avoid being left light in defensive options, with his side currently competing on three fronts.
The 31-year-old has struggled for playing time this season and has fallen down the pecking order in the Arsenal ranks.
Cedric, who joined Arsenal from Southampton in 2020, has made 59 appearances for the club since moving to north London three years ago.
However, since the arrival of Takehiro Tomiyasu and the emergence of Ben White as first-choice right-back, the former Sporting Lisbon and Inter Milan defender has seen his opportunities become extremely limited.
The Arsenal defender, who was part of the Portuguese team that won the European Championships in 2016, has only made two appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Fulham are in the market for a right-back this month, with defender Kevin Mbabu likely to move on. The Switzerland international has struggled for game time since signing from Wolfsburg for an initial €5.5million in the summer. Silva has previously confirmed that the club are looking to provide competition for Dutch full-back Kenny Tete, and did not rule out a move for Cedric when asked in a press conference earlier this month.
Fulham are next in action on January 23 against Tottenham at Craven Cottage.
